which clinical trial>

by John, Sep 22, 2000 12:00AM
Thank you for your informative service. I am considering participating in one of two Clinical Trials which will soon be enrolling in my area. I am a non responder to both Intron A and Rebetron, Genotype 1a, last viral load was 3 million. I had a biopsy about 5 years ago and another about 6 months ago, both showing stage 1, grade 2, mild steatosis.

One study is SP sponsored and consists of PegIntron and Ribavirin for 48 weeks with one arm of the study also getting a two week induction treatment of 5 MIU IntronA twice daily prior to the 48 weeks of Peg/Riba.

The other is a Roche study consisting of 48 weeks of Pegasys and Ribavirin. I understand that there are differences in molecular size and half life between the two pegelated interferons.

Would you recommend one over the other for my genotype considering that I did not respond to Rebatron?

Thanks
