I don't know the age of your child (it seems like young kids can have unusual colored stools) but with adults white stools are not a good sign. It can be an indication of a serious liver problem. I'd check this out. Mike
Pale stools can and are often a sign of cholestasis - inability to secrete bile into the intestinal tract - ,could be blockage or hepatitis. I ditto mikesimons comment.
when i was on tx i would have various different colored stools some white,or pale some green and my doc always kept a close eye on me with blood test to rule out certain issues with my stools as well as an ultra sound.
i believe the bottom line is as mikesmom and hep researcher and others have stated seeing a doc would be the best option.
