12yrs later out of the blue started having joint and muscle problems. MRI shows a little arthritis in hip but having severe pain in back. No accidents, no falls, just started MRI showed narrowing of spine at L3-4 and 4-5. Constance swelling and inflamation to the area. No one knows why. Can it be the tx I did 3 different times. I'm only 54 never had problems bfore and this has consumed my life. Have been doing PT and chiropractic visits for the last 16wks have been in pain for the last 8 almost 9 months. I'm ready to lose my mind...

four years after being a VRVR with geno 4 and treating for 43 weeks, I have developed spinal stenosis in three regions for a total of five disks.  not sure if it is related.

Thanks for the response. MRI taken back in July disc were ok little narrowing of spine at L3-4 and 4-5 but still dehydrated no bulging oir herniated. Went to chiropractor started to feel pretty good but then December took turn for the worse and now the pain moved and keep getting inflamation. Muscles keep tightening. I have always wonder what long term effects from doing interferon treatment could or would have. I just wish some one would be honest and let us know yes there are so I don't think this is all in my head. I just need answers so I no which way to turn. I made it thru 3 tx last one being a yr. If I can make it thru that I know I can do this. Any advice to find any Dr that believes going thru tx and putting those killer drugs into us knows how to help.....

I think it has to do with being older and nothing to do with treatment of any type. Degenerative disc disease for example happens because we are not 20 any longer.  After 12 years I seriously doubt it has anything to do with treament.

I have to agree with NYG.  I think that age has a lot to do with it....if you remember your hepatologist telling you that everything you have gets worse on treatment, I guess that perhaps INF can age us prematurely.  but i'm pretty old.

DITTO...I also agree
I think it's getting old. I have similar issues.
I was also told the pain might be worse during tx and it has
been much worse.  Some of my problem is due to the Neupogen I take.
12-years seems like you could have developed a non-related problem.

good luck
