I once pulled away from the pump with the nozzle in my tank and I wasn't even on treatment at the time so I can't use that excuse. Just sayin' it happens.
The store people said that I'd have to pay them $65 to fix the hose and replace the part, but when I got home I read the info on the part they said they needed and it was for a break-away connector that was SUPPOSED to come apart. My husband went back to the station and showed them how to reconnect it - so no new part and no $65! Only the dent in my car next to the gas flap...
Unfortunately I had to go back to that station. It's the only one in town.
The stuff (Aranesp) is pretty long-lasting and I have about 10 weeks left, so it will be an hgb race. But, when it comes to the docs, they always work stuff out with me so it should be ok - insurance is a speed bump that I'll have to work through. Doing ok now. The fact that I'm on the downslope makes it a bit easier. The blood sugar is a mystery to me and it's usually in an acceptable range. I haven't been using insulin for several months. Have a hemoglobin A1C coming up in a few weeks and I'll get a better idea. The real deal with the blood sugar will come when I escape the shades of the peg and riba. Trying to eat well and keep active, so I think I'm doing my part. Weight loss has stabilized (about 15 lbs) and I look like a zipper in profile. Hope all is well with you. I expect that the summer is starting to cook in your part of the world and I hope all is well with you.
Merlino -- too funny. I leave the station with my cap off all the time, but have never left the hose in.. Good thing it didn't rip out. How are the kiddos doing? Is your son pitching in and helping (the one who wanted to go live with your Ex to help him out)? I hope he is helping you with hgb of 8.5 you need it. I am so glad you are 3/4 thru.
IHorn -- you know I always thought it was an I as in incubator but now I wonder if it is an L as in LongHorn. I had to ask FLguy about that long long ago. Guess I am think. So do you have a big head today?
Chelly - good to see you. Hear it is steamy in PA right now. Hope you and the girls are well. I am headed to Ohio in AUgust. Wish I could get over to PA but can't.
FL - - surely they won't cut the epogen. I am surprised you are still getting injected at the clinic rather than at home. You seem to be doing well from the posts I have read. How are you? Are you still working? How is the diabetes this time around?

It's all about pace, isn't it? Went to the hemo today. The tech started mumbling about insurance changes dealing with Aranesp (procrit-like stuff they use for me). Although he gave it, he wondered if he'd be able to do so again. Always something, huh? I figure at this point, I can tough it out for the remaining weeks. But, hemo and I have had a high target (11-12) for an hgb level. The finish line will be interesting. Hope you have a long and enjoyable weekend ahead of you. We're off to the beach and any shade I can find there.
Still can't believe I did that! There has be a lot of things lately I can't believe I do. Went to Hemo yesterday. HGB back dowb to 9.8. Dropped another 6 lbs. I think my body and mind have had enough! Skipped gym last night. Maybe I was pushing a little too hard for some normalcy.
You need to go back to the station. Maybe for the busy holiday weekend they'll need the nozzle and hose that are sticking out of your gas tank. Remember many, many years ago when Exxon (Esso) stations used to give out the 'tiger tails' that you clipped to the fuel door?
I knew you all would find my story funny!! I haven't gone back to that station because I am so embarrassed.L-Horn - the wasp is doomed!!
Ohhhh, you poor thing, but I can't help laughing!
I saw a video of a woman doing almost exactly the same thing - it was very funny! :)

friole-ole sent me an e-mail to stop by med help, and i saw your funny story! i can just picture it all - and my response would've been the same - to burst into tears! i did that in the middle of the grocery store (no reason) and people were so kind, asking if they could help me, or do something... oh well, the trials and tribulations of tx, right? it seems like just yesterday you came on this board, and look - you're almost done! that's great! be well and take care..
chelley
can you imagine a wasp with riba rage??? LOL...
Don't answer the doorbell. It might be the wasp's attorney suing you for reckless endangerment. *s*
In all seriousness, I take allergy injections and ever since being on TX (7 months) I've had to cut the dose in half coz the peg seems to be exacerbating my normal reaction.
So, if you swell up or start itching, go to the ER immediately!
Even before TX, i got stung a couple of times and had to get injections of epinephrine coz the reaction was so severe.

Just in case the wasp has not gone on to the land of milk and honey...I'd watch out because if comes back, it comes back with riba in it.
I was just trimming some shrubs and got stung by a wasp on top of the head.
Frickin' typical ....
I do shot # 45 tomorrow and an insect will probably do me in. Now to wait around and see if I swell up or anything.
Anyone know interferons affect on wasp stings ?
If it makes you feel any better, my boyfriend did the same exact thing and he is not on any treatment. So, don't feel bad. I couldn't stop laughing...
Trying to look at the more positive side of things, you are officially 75% done now. And, bursting into tears is better than bursting into flames. The end is nearing. Hang in there!
Awwwww Hi Merlino It's really good to see you.
Yes it is funny in an odd sense. I totally understand that kind of forgetfulness. I have left a pan of water on the stove, got on the computer and answered the phone completely forgetting that I had water on, it wasn't till I heard the crackling of the pan boiling dry and saw the smoke that I realized what I had done. and here I almost went to bed too. I just finished my years sentance of combo therapy last week. I can't rem when you started, How long do you have left??? Hopefully not long. I do hear it does get better after treatment is over, I'm still waiting LOL Take Care. Nicki
I've noticed from reading this forum losing a sense of humour is not one of the side effects. Thank God!
