A lovely Christmas and holiday to all

A lovely Christmas and holiday to all

I have been *very* busy since getting back to work last Monday, post-surgery...catching up on everything waiting for me there, cramming in the Christmas shopping that had to be delayed and picking up my kids one by one from wherever..one more to pick up at the airport this evening yet!  Nice problems to have, eh? :)  I'm grateful after a tough year to have my Christmas with all my kids around me.

I love Christmas.  It has long been my favourite time of year.  What I love most about Christmas is all the goodwill that permeates all around me.  Everybody is thinking of others...gifts are chosen to make other people happy and the best of people comes out at this time of year.   Also the worst of people .. however, I choose not to focus on that, as there is nothing to be done about those people.  For the most part...people are at their very best, loving and giving at this time of year and I enjoy the love, the lights and the auld lang syne of this time of year.

I wanted to take a moment and wish you ALL the very best of the holiday season.  This place is a treasure to me.  As I said in a prior post....my daughter read your caring and supportive comments to me after my appendix adventure and I said to her .. "see why this place is so special to me?" and she had NO problem recognizing what an amazing, caring, supportive and unique place this is because of all of the people who are here, giving what they can while dealing with their own issues.  All of us are different and contribute in our own ways and this place means different things to each of us .. collectively, we are sums of the whole is greater than the sum of the individual and we are stronger together.

My past year of treatment was a difficult one in my own way.  I know without a doubt that I would not have done nearly as well without the knowledge, support and caring I've received here.  As Dr. D. said... the enemy of my enemy is my friend and Hep C is our enemy.

I hope you are all blessed many times over this Christmas.  Look for the beauty in others and in this season and you will surely find it.  I thank you from the bottom of my heart for each and every one of you and wish you all a very Merry Christmas.....I hope the joys to be found in this season make the trials of dealing with HCV lighter for a time and wishing SVR for everyone and better meds ahead soon!

Love and peace to all of you and thank you for being you.

Trish

A Traditional Irish Blessing and Toast to All

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be ever at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
And the rain fall softly on your fields
And until we meet again, May God hold

I relate to your sentiments about Xmas and am so glad you're recovered enough to get some joy from it all.   Of course, my last post to you congratulated you on the lowered LFT's - brain fog - I'd forgotten about your surgery too, but woke up in the middle of the night that night and did a 'doh!!'.

Lovely to hear you're doing well with your precious family.

I just got back into town and wanted to say Merry Christmas even though it's a day late! It doesn't mean my sentiments are any less and I hope that everyones holiday was filled with joy and love.

For the first time in my adult life my dad seemed to really enjoy my company. I guess because for once I wasn't sick or in some dire situation like usual with drama flying all around my head. Jez I didn't realize it would take so long for me to grow up but his enjoyoment and asking if we could stay even longer made it the best Christmas I think I ever had.

I hope everyone had as blessed a day as I did and that it will stick throughout the upcoming year.

Very nicely said Trish.

And yes, all the 'bah humbug-ers' can just be miserable alone. The spirit of giving is wonderful, when it comes from the heart, not just the wallet.

Merry Christmas to you and a HEALTHY new Year ahead!
