ANDIAMO ARE YOU HERE?

Are you online?

I had such an unbelievable time meeting with you and Mafalda (what a DOLL) the other night well there are just not enough words.  What absolutely great people you are.  I am so glad I got out of bed and came!

Thank you, thank you, thank you - for making me get up and get out or I would have missed out on meeting two of the best people I've met in a very very long time.

I'm so glad youse guys had a chance to meet.

I agree --- we should start planning a 2008 or 2009 gathering somewhere.

For all the HCV boards chats and forums.

Make it big - like a convention.

This is a day that touches all our hearts!!  Deb, called you a few times.  Chellski - I read your post to FLGuy. I think of you your family often. Friday 9/28 is my last shot. Things are not much better home but today is a day to remember a great loss.Being from North Jersey , the WTC could be seen from our kitchen window. I worked on John street for many years. Windows of the World was a place we visited often after work to have a few drinks and relax. Those picture will be etched in my mind forever.

i was living/working on Long Island...that day I had scheduled two technicians to do a quarterly analysis of the equipment @ The World Trade Center. Due to an emergency in a nearby building (90 Church) , I rerouted the two employees. One of the men was in training,..it was his 1rst day on the job. Amazing, huh? I was getting frantic calls from many employees (before the cell phones went dead) as they were running across the Williamsburg Bridge....It certainly is a day I will never forget.  The WTC Chief Engineers @ the Center didn't make it....so many losses...
One of my guys was across the street on the roof of a building when the first plane hit...he was on his phone frantic...talking to me as I sat in my office....my God.

Went into the city in early Dec 2001 to see the tree lighting at RC.  Took the subway down to Ground Zero and couldn't believe the haze, that skeleton of the building backlite, the fire still smoldering,  all the arches, reminded me of a church. It certainly was/ is a hallowed site.

This is a very emotional day.

I was at my school when the planes hit.  That afternoon, I drove to Garrett Mountain Park, which has a full view of Manhattan and the Verrazano Bridge.  The smoke was still billowing over the New York City skyline.

I took a bus into the city and did the pilgrimage down to St Paul's Church.  What a miracle it survived intact.

Ironically, 2 or 3 of the hijackers had gotten their passports in the next town over from mine.  Another lived in a building I used to pass every day on the way to work.  A couple of others had lived for a year in a motel near Willowbrook Mall.  I swear some of them took flight lessons at Caldwell Airport . . .

Just rambling . . . .

I can vouch for that! She is very pretty.

nygirl: I agree, the smell was awful.  As soon as I came up out of the Subway the day they opened the downtown streets I could sense the change in the light: the towers cast huge shadows throughout the financial district.  there was dust and papers from peoples desks all over the street.

The skeleton of one of the buildings was partially upright and was eerie to look at.  At night, it was back lit by the flood lights used by the workers --  you could see smoke still rising up from the ruins spreading through the skeleton.  Just about everyone that walked by it would burst into tears as they looked at it.

My sister lives on the upper west side and my brother lives about 45 min outside of the city but works there (he was in close proximity when the planes hit)  it was very scary having family so close to it, and my heart goes out to all the families who lost loved ones.  Not being able to get ahold of my sibs was nerve wracking, i remember that day like i remember the births of my children - which is every moment and detail.
nygirl - so cool that you met andiamo and his wife.  The big party sounds fun.  I remember a couple of years back cuteus met some fellow med help friends at the hep-c walk in NYC.
(oh and nygirl - you're really pretty.  i always thought you were but had you pegged dark hair - nice to put a face to the name)

The company I was working for at the time was located right there too so I know what you mean.  I just thank God I was not there that day - our floor was one of the floors that just imploded. One of the girls that worked there was in her 20s and had just recently found out she was pregnant. I think of her whenever this time of year rolls around.

If you live in NY it just affects you so much harder than the rest of the world it seems.  I will never forget how the city smelled afterwards...it's one of those things that will just stay in the front of my mind forever.

We should set up  a date for the party!  I need to think about happy things.

It was very sad to hear about meet's friend and I just watched the 911 services in order to hear my friend's daughter's name read.  She was 24 years old when it happened.

It reminded me of it all over again; I worked two blocks from it and my company had an office in both towers.

Oh girl you know I want to meet you too.  I hate being so broke - I wish I could travel and meet all the people I want to on the board, throw a big shin dig and have FUN or something. Ah if wishes were horses then beggars would ride my mom always says.

I'll keep buying my one lotto ticket just in case - you never know and after all the crappy luck I've had something good has GOT to be around the corner!

It was a wonderful experience for me to meet you.  I have always been an admirer of the way you provide support to people here.

I can speak for Mafalda when I say that we both had a great time and look forward to meeting you again.
