Adivan Question

I just got a precription of adivan from my...can anyone please tell me if they tried this and does it work ok....im feeling stressed ,,not from thr TX drugs...but from all the work issues and run around i am now going tru....ive heard they can be hard on the live but i want to try someting to calm my nerves....i cat seem to stop talking and my mind is racing worrying if i screwed things up with my finanical problems....i know i need something

It should work well. Ativan is in the same drug family as Valium. That being said, be careful with it. That family also has long half lives and can be addictive.

You mean be half life it says inyou system a long time right?...i am now googling info on it and im kinda scared to take from what im reading...my script is for only 1 mg   and 30 pills....tink i should be ok?....i just my BP and its normal...but lately i can feel a tension in my chest...i may have no choice to take something to relax me

I take ativan from time to time for anxiety.  I like it because it is a drug I can take as needed - not like ADs where you have to take it daily to keep threaputic levels.  

I mostly take ativan at night, at those times when I just cannot make my brain stop racing through all my problems over and over.  It helps me a lot and I never had any trouble with side effects.  Its not liver toxic.  I get 1 mg, 30 pills and that will last me about 2-3 months or more.

Give it a try.  Only take it when you need it and you should be ok.

Im still googling it....it looks safe enuff...ive taken valium in my party days so if its anyting like that ill be relieved....ill just play it smart and wont abuse them...as they can be very addictive...physicaly and mentally....im goinn to pick up some right now....i just hope i feel relaxed caused i am worried sick now

Many people have screwed things up financially lately, including me. And I talk a blue streak at certain hours of the day, although at other times, I seem comatose. My husband wishes the blue streak wouldn't keep happening at midnight.

Why don't you try the Ativan as long as you're careful and let us know.

Well...i  finally gave in and popped a 1mg ativan....they are very cheap to buy...12 bucks for 30 pills...i was going to take a half of a pill...but i am 200 lbs ...i wont take no more than onre a day  and i plan on not even finishing the whole bottled....i just need something right now...after all ive been tru   i think quailty of life is more important than side effects from a few  lorzapam

Thats ok...we all need some mothering at somepoint....ive been calling my MOM all week..yes...ever since i did start my E.I i have been getting stressed...i was in a delima  if i had to report my severance to them ,and i do...ive read on some sites you dont have to tell them if they dont ask...so this was stressing me out if i should tell and now i have....it wasn driving me crazy...this is the problem with these guys,,,,they dont ask if you recieved a package in you reports...and believe it of not..i haven recied a peeny yet.....but my lawyer says it may take 21 days after the signing....i will get it he say for sure....he wont get paid if i dont

i took the Ativan 30 min ago and i feel relaxed already....very fast acting

hello rocker ativan is not to hard on liver but can be addictivrve you can also get them in .5 1 and 2 mg try to take only what necessary i had bad insomnia on treatment and was taking 1.5 mg nitely since week 10 had so many problems at work by feb was up to 3.5 nite finished treatment 1 month ago and have reduced down to .5 buy as of last nite will do this for 7 days or so .you may want to get script for .5 best of luck

Ativan helped me get through those "menopausal days".  I could only take half of 1mg  if needed during the day otherwise it would put me to sleep.  A whole pill at night and I slept very well.  I used them on and off for about a year.  No adverse effects.

It is fast acting.  In about 20-30 minutes you should feel it.

Anything in the valium family is a very effective muscle relaxer in addition to the stress reliever.  More effective than any muscle relaxer.

I take klonopin 1 mg twice a day. that tight chest felt like a heart attack  huh ? .mine was so bad , and to think Its all in our heads . my wife takes ativan ,and after 4 yrs she says It doesnt work as well .proving you can build a tolerence to It .be careful .

Well..i took my first 1 mg at aboout 7 pm last nite and as so as i sat down of rth couch i went to sleep...almost missed myBOC dose...lucky the alarm clockes were on...i did missi the BOCt bt 2 hours...not too bad...its tough to do the meds on time wity all thisL ookn for work and proving to the EI i an looking...i popped 2-1 mg pills this morning  to help tru the daY...i know theU say to take them at nite but i sleep fine at nite without them...i need them when il up and alive....i now sure feel relaxed...i amd now even senng oiut tons oF cover letters and resumes today...bedforE i was worroying too much ..THAT MY FORMER  employer would give me a dab reference and i was waiting for a cover from them...now my lawyer saids i wont get the ref lletter...best i can do is apply for jobs....ifi get turned dowm....whell at least ill still get the EI....NOW IM THINKING THEY MAY PuT ME ON DISABITLY...they made an appointmet to see a INFO SESSEION  AND INVESTIGATION AND CONTRIOL FELLOW

I was thinking the same thing but was afraid to "say" anything LOL.  I am not so sure it is just the ativan but add the brain fog and other drugs (TX) and the result is above.  

I went back and read some of my first posts and was horrifird at my keyboard mistakes, I had a month of TX left.   We all can make mistakes but they were much worse than I usually make LOL

Ativan is for use when you need it.  I take it at night because that's when my anxieties overwhelm me, but its fine to take it during the day.  I'm glad its helping you.  Two mg. would knock me on my a$$ but you're a big guy so you can probably handle it.  

Take good notes when you talk to your lawyer and make sure you understand what he is telling you.  If you aren't sure what is meant by something he said, ask.  I always try to make sure my clients understand my meaning before they leave my office (or hang up the phone) because it saves a lot of trouble later.  Tell him what your understanding of his advice is so he can clear up anything that he may have miscommunicated.

I'm glad you are feeling more relaxed. Try not to worry too much. You seem to have the whole procedure under control and remember that the good Lord loves you and takes care of you. You are strong and you will make it through this!

I am glad i picked up some of the adivan....i just popped  2mg pill under my tongue aan i do not have one worry in the hell bent worrld...LOL....now can see why they can decome addicitive....i have no more twension in my chest and head amd i talk slower and wity a coll clam voice....its actually clareing my mind in order to think clearer....but i will be careful...little monkeys can jump on you fast

You're scaring me a bit. Wasn't your Rx for 1 mg. per day...and you've now taken 4 mg today...2 this morning and 2 tonite. Even for a big guy and all that's a heavy load for the second day on....Are you clear enough to take the rest of your meds on time? Please be careful !!!

I had some bad news today I'm trying to process myself. I'm not too good at dealing with things that don't work out as I expect them to, still--I'd like to learn how.

The thing is, we can't control everything. But we have to be able to chill ourselves out and not let life's bumps overstress us. We can control our reaction. Deep breaths. Long walks. I'm getting back into that tomorrow.

I kinda hate to bring it up but how about pot?  It is non-addictive or substantially less so than what you are taking.

It is legal in some locations.  The pharm equivalent is Marinol.  You might be able to get that rx'd.  

Like I say I don't want to hype it but on occasion I meet people who finish TX addicted to various substances.  Some folks can quit no problem and others can have significant problems.

In an earlier post you said that you did not need them at night since you had no problem sleeping.  What changed?
Aside from the medical.  If you are composing letters and e-mails to prospective employers you should save those documents before you actually send them.  If you write letters like you write some of your posts, the effort could be counter productive.  Consider composing and saving for a second review in lucid moments.  Even better would be to have a friend or a relative work with you to make sure that you job-hunting efforts are focused and targeted.
Job hunting is a difficult undertaking, even in the best of conditions.  The conditions are not the best right now and given your treatment the degree of difficulty is higher.  Do they have programs in Canada in which you can get things like resume' review, networking guidance, career re-training, meet and greet events, job fairs and stuff like that?  With the weight you are under I'd imagine that physical and emotional efficiency is  a great benefit.  There's probably help out there....

Ive just actually recieved a letter from the E.I asking me to come in for a workshop with my jog seraches and stuff and they are offering me help in my search....i still in shoch after losing my job i was at for 20 years

Glad the Ativan is helping with the anxiety. In general, I am for just about anything that makes TX easier. Keep your focus, which is on getting through TX and finding a job.

I dont need any sleep aid...i crash as soon as my head hits the pillow....its just tru the the day im alled worried and stressed out....so ive been taking only 1 mg a day at 6 am...it helps me get tru the day without my mind racing....ive only got 30 pills ....i prpberly wont need the whole 30 as i herad they are extremley physically addicitive...worse that heroin ive been reading
