American Idol Picket?

Latest scoop is that there will be a picket at AI because people are mad (Jim's not) that they haven't dumped Antanella for her porn pics when in fact they dumped the other girl a few years ago (black girl) who had nude pics on internet. The girl that got dumped a few years ago is working on Broadway so she is doing fine, but its still the point of why did they get rid of her immediately and Antenella they are keeping? I think Jim has more pull in Hollywood then he is letting us know about. Yup, hes a big hollywood producer I bet. Trust me. Am I ever wrong?

So the public is asking why hasn't she been let go. I didn't see this news item for myself. I heard it from my mother who is in her late 70's, but she doesn't have brain fog like me, so she may be accurate in what she has told me.

If they don't go this week,its going to look really bad. I'd sleep with one eye open because at this point the other singers must totally despise them because good singers are getting the boot because of them.

If the parents of the other kids are anything like the parents that beat each other up over high school soccer and football games, this outcome could be scary. Or what if a Tonya Harding type is amongst them?

Jim will be very upset if someone beats up his girl. I'd feel bad for Jim if that happens, even though I don't approve of his relationship(you know what I mean) with her. I know he'd be upset and as Honey mentioned he just came off a year of interferon. He doesn't need anything to upset him. Maybe praying for the lust demons to leave is the wrong approach. If Jim is really my friend, I should pray for his girl to win the American Idol competition. What was I thinking? What kind of a friend am I? Who am I? See how we all must now and then examine ourselves and our motives.

Jim is my buddy and so I will pick up the phone and vote for his girl tonight. I've made my decision. No turning back.I hope I can count on all of Jim's other friends here to cast the vote for his girl. If he has ever helped any of you with advice concerning your tx, how could you not consider helping him see his girl win?

I know Mike has probaly never watched the show. Mike I want you to consider watching AI to help Antinella win. Thanks Mike, I'd appreciate that. I may quiz you about the show, so please don't lie to me if you don't watch it.

Sanjia is really horrible. His initial audition was pretty good, but he has never sounded the same since then. He's famous now and will have his teen idols to make millions off of for a while, so he is not a loser in that sense.

The funny thing about it all is that Paula is saying that it doesn't seem like a singing competition, yet its Hollywood who has and still does put so much weight into the image. So they are reaping what they have sown. Young people are voting for the image they like not necessarily the talent.

Yeah, I like the two Chris' as well but think the non-Sligh may go further unless Sligh really steps up big and turns into Elton John, but I don't think it's in him. Did you notice how the other Chris seemed deflated after the judge's comments and esp after Ryan asked him about the weight loss. Seemed embarrased. He also had better step up or that be-bop guy may take over. All in all, it seems like the girls have it this season. C'mon boys -- someone STEP UP!

oohhh how i love to hate this show! i do remember on a couple of other AI seasons, thinking to myself, how did this one person stay around again yet another week? and then finally, they got the boot. i don't like antonella's singing(cute, yes, singer, no) and sanjaya is too quiet and reserved. but i will bet you money that antonella will go in the top 12. i just hope not. i like blake for the guys and the melinda or lakisha for the girls. tho, sabrina and stephanie pretty good too. it will interesting to see the girls tonight, to say the least...

I really wonder if after this year of AI, if the audience will taper off. It just isn't what it is supposed to be. i enjoyed it every year, but his year is so different.

I missed the interview with Simon on the news. Was its something about Taylor Hicks? I think it said something about Simon commenting about one of the former contestants, but I didn't stay up to see it, only comming attractions

First, I do not enjoy watching people make fools out of themselves so the bad ones don't entertain me. The good ones bore me generally. I have probably watched a total of 20 minutes while the show was airing but I have seen clips from time to time elsewhere and I just get either nauseous or bored. Some of the people I work with watch it and love it and I respect them - just not their viewing preferences. And I read here because I like to try and get a handle on who all you guys and gals really are and this thread gives me a tiny glimpse.

Honey, I think I like House but last night he disappointed me - the dopehead. I watch 24 but that is starting to tire me. I love NCIS and it's not the story line for sure. I love the characters, all of them. I think Ducky used to be on The Man From U.N.C.L.E. but he wasn't doing pathology then.

Music therapy session: Todays homework is to go buy the old song by Archie Bell and the Drells called the "Tighten Up."  Change the words to "Lighten Up." Learn to do a dance to it. Then once you've learned a dance to your liking, have Karen film you dancing to the "Lighten Up," and upload it on You tube (or whatever its called) and tell us on forum so we can watch it. Make sure you sing to it while dancing.

And while she may not be a great singer, I thought she was pretty well composed considering the barbs simon threw at her. Did you notice, the other girls 'groovin' in the balcony while she sang? No doubt the producers set this up to combat rumors of trouble in paradise between Antonella and the other girls. I think Melinda is going to walk away with it and couldn't go to a seemingly nicer person.

Jordan was OK, as was the more talented Stephanie, who just seems too mechanical like Simon says BUT the other girls have to be careful cause she could come out swinging next time. Lakeesha has to be Melinda's biggest competition and if either falters, the other could step right over. Then there's Gina, who looked good a little punked out and I think she will have her fans. Nice reparte between her and Seacrest but did you notice it was Antonella Seacreast threw the pillow at. So maybe's he's pretty straight after all. So, that's how I see the final six -- Jordan, Stephanie, Lakeesha, Melinda, and Gina. But wait, that's only five -- could Antonella actually make it to the top six. More likely Sabrina or Haley, but ya never know.

LOL.  You know, I only tried to vote once but got several busy signals -- not something you really relish on ribavirin :) -- so that was it. If I was younger, I'm sure I'd text message or however most of them get their votes in. Unfortunatly, this season seems to be the most boring although they do have a couple of really excellent singers and one of the girls -- Melinda Doolittle -- has a chance to be a real star, whether she wins AI or not.

Paula is er, Paula but she is good for the show. In fact, Paula, Randy and Simon are like out of Central Casting, each playing their role. As is Seacrest. I am a bit surprised, however, that she got away with what she did with one of the male contestants. If it was a male judge -- Simon or Randy -- and they dated a teenage female contestant -- I have no doubt they would be missing from the judge's table. Double standard but what else is new.

I was surfing around either last week or the week before and I believe I caught the last minute of Doolittle's performance. It was a jazz ballad - a standard I think - she is a heavy set black woman right? If that is the person you're talking about I think she did a great job. I did stay to see the judges swoon over her but then I left to watch some hockey game or something else. I thought was excellent. It's just not the type of thing that interests me musically. Mike

My personal opinion, even though I know others will not all agree with me is that I don't care for Gina's presentation.   I think that Simon is a hoot though.  He critics their attire and yet, he comes in all the time in a T-shirt, it's almost always a bland color.  I've hardly ever seen him wear anything different.  Like he's a fashion expert!   I don't think so....   I guess he does know what sells records, I'll give him that.  It's funny because I don't normally listen to pop music on the radio, it's not my station of choice.  But, after hearing all about A.I., I finally decided to watch it this season.    I still listen to the old classic rock station, Contemporary Christian music, etc, when I'm in my car.  Most of the time at home, I'm not listening to the radio, but doing other things, T.V., computer, reading, exercising, general life, etc.

Hate to say it, but at first glance this seemed like a chick flick supremo. Not sure too many men will tune in week after week to see one appears to be one neurotic wedding after another. Surprised they don't run this along with the other chick-flick show, Grey's Anatomy. I give it only one wedding bell out of a possible four.

yes men are into what pleases the eye, but women are to some extent too, but its not as important to us as them.

My husband is a very good looking guy, but his personality and gentle nature is what I love the most about him.

His good looks will disappear with age, but hopefully his kind and gentle nature will remain. We all look the same when we get old, so looks don't really mean that much once we hit a certain age. Companionship is important as time goes on, especially for all of us on tx if our sex drive never returns. Companionship and holding hands is all we'll have. ha!

That's OK. Boring people are allowed to participate. I saw "Myth Busters" once or twice. Without that show, I never would have figured out how to blow up a toilet bowl and for that I will be eternally grateful. American Idol (AI): Good to kill three nights a week and then kill more time here posting about it.

Prison Break: You never know when knowing how to break out of jail will become handy. Just ask that AstroNUT lady.

Grey's Anatomy: Think Desperate Housewives with medical degrees.

24: The world needs saving and Jack Bauer saves it every Monday night, so we can just sit back and watch.

Ugly Betty: Good for a few laughs (and stares) whenever Salma Hayek (executive producer) makes an appearance.

Thats ok me too, I have a limited number of shows I watch as well, American Idol (last year was my first) only show like that I watch, Sopranos, Desperate housewives and on occaision Orange County Choppers (hubby likes that show).  I tend to like Discovery, and A&E, and Home & Garden channels.

I can't believe it that Sanjaya is STILL ON AI!!!   What is wrong w/these people voting?  It must be a bunch of teeny boopers.   At least there's hope for Melinda and Lakesha still, I think....  who knows anymore with this dumb show.

I have a long list, I'm ashamed to say, of shows that I watch regular.  I use the T.V. for cheap entertainment that doesn't make me have to be on my feet for a long period of time.  I watch it while I'm walking on the treadmill, too.  I read also.  I do other things besides JUST watch T.V., but I'm saying that I probably watch a lot of it.  List:  Grey's, 7th Heaven, Bones and House, ER and various news magazines.  Sometimes I'll watch something on A & E, or one of the other stations.  Sometimes, I'll watch a movie on one of the other stations if it's something that looks interesting.  Sometimes, I'll watch Nanny shows, or Wife swap (good for a laugh).  I have a DVR, so, I tape most of them and FF through the commercials.  I've never watched Desp. Housewives, or 24, so I guess I'm not normal...  oh well, that's not a news flash.  Sometimes, I will just have the T.V. on for background noise when I'm cooking, or cleaning.  My Dad keeps the T.V. on almost constantly when he's awake but it's usually, on Fox News, Golf Channel or Football.  If he's not got it on those, he's listening to Rush Limb. on the radio.  I think if truth be told that a lot of people probably watch it a lot more than they'll admit to watching.

I must admit I have a soft spot for the lady doc in Bones. As the expression goes, I'd like to jump her ____ .LOL. Talking about TV shows, have you checked our "Are you smarter than a fifth grader". Truth is, if you watch the show, then you're definitely not smarter than a fifth grader. Pretty dumb show IMO.

Nope, I haven't watched it yet.  Maybe I shouldn't, I don't want to be classified In your humble opinion, as dumber than a 5th grader.  However, some of the 5th graders out there, are pretty darn smart these days.  When I was in 5th grade, I was very innocent.  Now days, a 5th grader seems to know WAY too much about certain things, in MY humble opinion.

I too started watching Orange County Chopers cause my better half watches it... I just shake my head in disbelief over that show sometimes... I mean people don't really ACT like that do they... surely it's for entertainment purposes ONLY...LoL at least it's better than that old Anna Nicole show...
