Anybody w/Hep C had a skin itch diagnosed as T.M.E.P.?

Hi there.  I got my skin biopsy results back today.  The pathology report said that I have something called. T.M.E.P. which stands for Telengiectasia Macularis Eruptiva Perstans, what a mouthful!  The dermatologist told me that what it's basically saying is that I have increased amount of mast cells in my skin biopsy.  I asked her if the interferon could have caused this.  She said that she had not heard of it, but that she'd not seen this disorder that often in her adult patients.  She ordered further labwork to rule out a systemic cause.  Supposedly, there's not a whole lot I can do about it other than treating the itchiness with antihistamines and something like Zantac.  Depending on what comes up with my lab work will depend on whether or not she'd refer me to a hematologist.  Anybody else familiar with this?

I have extra layers of skin on my face scalp feet very flaky washes of easy with water but leaves skin red ruff like old wino skin the problem comes and goes any ideas

I too have hep c and have itched for many years mostly my arms and legs.  I have never heard of having a skin biopsy for this.  I always figured it was part and parcel with the hep and the liver functioning poorly.  I know others who itch with hep also.  I thought maybe it was toxins coming out through the skin being that the liver wasn't cleansing the blood well.  This whole hep thing has me totally frustrated and confused.  Pray for a cure.  My best to you.  Lubby
