Anyone Ever Take Zomig for Headaches?

a friend told me it works great for headaches...does anyone have any experience with it? or know about it? thanks...!

man, I've never heard of that.  I'd much rather do the rice bag then meds!  I imagine you can make a slightly larger one and heat it for sore muscles after lifting etcetera, as well as migraines Thanks

I have had mirgaines for years, the last prescription I did try was zomig, I immediately felt like i was having a heart attack... i had never had papitations like that in my life..i threw that prescription away.   I also used imitrix when it was in a shot form only.  I have tried alot of differnet meds it, basically i found that the rice bag   on my head, with advil pm, in a dark room is what helps me get though them.

I understand why your looking for something...........headaches are not fun!  I have also had migraines since I was a teenager.  Fioicet (I don't think this is spelled correctely) worked well for me, but after awhile quit working.  I now take Frova which is similar to Imitrix.  Unfortunately, treatment brought my migraines back.  I had finally got them under control and then boom they returned.  I have been off tx for a couple years and still get them but not often.

I use a rice bag for my headaches.  A rice bag is something I made out of a small hand towel- Fold in half and sew, leaving one end open - fill with raw rice - finish sewing the open end.  Your done!  For heat, the finished rice bag can be put in the microwave for 2-3 minutes and placed on your forehead or back of your neck OR if you prefer cold; place in the freezer.  I love my rice bag, it's great for anything that hurts.  Hope it helps:-)

might ask for a prescription of Fioricet, just to have around. like i said, just don't like taking anything.  fortunately they don't come often

Hi,
I have migranes everyday since I'm 18.
Tried everything, Zomig, Immitrex, Beta Blockers etc.
When I was pregnant, My OB prescribed me Fioricet, it's a miracle.
It has either tylenol, or aspirin, caffeine and butlabital which is a very light barbituate.
I take 1 first thing in the morning and if needed again as soon as my headaches come back.
Works great for me, maybe worth a try.

i get killer headaches and don't take anything for them.  fortunately its only a handful of times a year, but when they come fortget it.  call in sick, pull the shades, lay down. figure if i can avoid taking pills the better for me

getting pretty bad headaches, has anyone ever tried Esgic? I was told that it really helps with the headaches, and it's not an opiate derivative since I'm allergic to those...sorry to be such a pest, but I realize there are some real medics out there with experience, or just patients with experience with headaches and headache meds...thank you beforehand...

it's great to know that I will get samples of different things, really, so far (and I don't get the migraines I used to, but I know riba can cause them, or just headaches) the only thing that has ever worked is Advil....I do have a normally (maybe a little more rapid than I want?) heart rate so maybe this stuff isn't that good for me...thanks so much! any other suggestions appreciated...

Zomig is a central nervous system drug, comes in p.o. and nasal spray.  If you have any cardiac issues this is not the drug to take..can cause arrhyhtmias.  also contraindicated in hypertensive and liver patients(use cautiously).   A friend of mine takes a low dose inderal when she feels a migraine coming, its safe for the liver, but if you have a normally low heart rate and blood pressure it might be too much for you....This works very well for her...Leah

I have taken zomig for my migraines. it comes in a pill or nasal spray. if you can deal with nasal spray use it. it works really fast i just cant spray anything up my nose! haha one time was all i could handle. i take maxalt. for me it works the fastest. your dr. will probably give you several diff. kinds of samples and have you see which works best on you. good luck
