Anyone have problems with their teeth.

Anyone have problems with their teeth.

I was just wondering if anyone else teeth become very sensitive to hot or cold?  while on treatment. The air hurts them.  If water is to cold it really hurts same with food being hot or even coffee.  I use the sensitivity tooth paste.  If my finger is cold and I touch my teeth it hurts. Going on week 27 of tx.

Yes I had lots of trouble with my teeth on tx. Actually I lost two had to have them pulled during tx....I also had other work done. I attributed to tx but perhaps it would of happened anyway.

Yes my teeth were very sensitive as well.

Yes, more sensitivity for me too.  I also had to have a molar extracted about 8 weeks after treatment ended.

Yes, within a few weeks of beginning tx I noticed my teeth became very sensitive esp to cold.  My dentist gave me a prescription toothpaste (Colgate PreviDent 5000 Sensitive).  I was told to just rub some onto the painful teeth between brushings when needed.  Don't swallow the toothpaste, it has a lot of fluoride, but it really did help.

My gums became very inflamed.  I had my teeth cleaned about 3 mos after starting tx and the hygienist recommended I return for another cleaning in 2 mos (which I did) because there was such a noticeable change in the health of my gum tissue.  I was fortunate to only tx for 6 mos so I'm now back to my routine of cleaning every 4 mos.

The dry mouth associated with tx meds is part of the problem.  Using Biotene products for dry mouth helped, along with brushing more frequently than usual.  And definitely flossing every night, very important!

Good luck to you.

Thanks for the advice I will make an appointment and get some of the Biotene products. I've started using a fluoride mouth wash rubbing it on my teeth and letting it set there it has help some.

Have a nice day

My teeth I don't remember ever bothering me on treatment. But sometimes if I couldn't fall to sleep I would catch myself clenching my teeth, I guess because I was mad that I just couldn't sleep some nights, and so the next day anytime I had done that clench teeth business, then my teeth would feel sensitive and I would always have a headache from it too. So maybe you are clenching your teeth and not always aware of doing it.
