Appetite on TX

So anyway, my appetite is pretty strange these days. I get on binges of certain types of food, then go through periods where all food disgusts me. Today, was a sick combination of the two. After going to the vid store to pick up some movies and 6 of those huge hershey's almond bars I get in the car to drive home and for whatever reason, I see the glow of a eerily familiar sign down the street and it seemed to be calling me personally. I hook a U and speed headlong into the night, toward the bright lights .....of Taco Bell.

Not really being particularly hungry I get in line at the drive up anyway, and begin on my second almond bar. When I get to the menu/speaker I am dazzled by an array of peasant food delights. My stomach is saying no, but my brain is saying, 'F'in' A boy, get some.' Then the magical words from the woman in the box, 'May I take your order ?'

I panick, I just got here, I don't know what I want. I don't even know IF I want. Better get a variety.

Yeah I'll have 3 crispy tacos.

Quickly the box responds: would you like something to drink with that ?

Yeah, 3 soft chicken tacos.

Anything else, the box asks...

A combination burrito and a tostada...

Is that all ....?

Panicking, realizing this is my last chance to speak up, I order the family pack.

Would you like anything to drink with that ?

A medium pepsi.

Anything else ?

Nope, that's it. Wait, a burrito supreme.

Long pause....

Is that all ?

Yes

Your total is $27.43, please pull up to the window.

And so it goes ....

i'm at work, literally laughing out loud.  very funny.  and written well, i feel like i'm there in the car with you.  i can feel your hunger, and confusion for what exactly i want - so order it all!

I-horn -- looks like you will have no problem with riba absorption.  LOL - you make my belly ache.  Here I am post tx trying to lose the weight I gained after I was done treating.  Truly it affects us all differently!

I know exactly what you are talking about.  Your appetite will go through many crazy spins. Sweet attacks, those are crazy.  I missed my spices on tx.  Medal taste stopped my appetite.  Use plastic utensils on those days.

You're not going crazy, just part of, I guess you would say norm on tx.  Have you lost weight yet.
I ate what I could when I could to make up for the days I did not eat.  Always remember your water though, very important.

I am hopiing that one day I too will have cravings and eat till my tummy hurts!

  If anybody gets nausea or vertigo - you should try the motion sickness bracelts out.  My ENT gave me (they come in pairs) a pair and even though my thought was "yeah riiiight" - within a couple hours I felt LOT'S better.  They REALLY work.  BUT within an hour or two of taking them off it all comes back, so I wear mine all day.

I know what you mean..I get on a kick for a certain food. Like New Year's Eve..we talked about & were craving a nice prime rib. Went out to a nice dinner & we both had the prime ribs. I took about 3 bites, couldn't taste it so I wrapped it up and brought the rest home. I threw out the left-over prime rib about a week later.  What a waste!

I've talked to a number who had little or no sides through tx, or at least none at first and they were concerned by the "No pain, no gain" idea.  Some cleared some didn't.  Severity of sides seems to have no relationship to SVR.  Enjoy any week and day on tx  where you feel good!

I suppose it's different for everyone. I find that my appetite comes and goes but I discovered if I don't eat I feel worse, so I don't eat. I've gone through periods where I ate ice cream by the bucket loads and loads of sweets. I once went to Marie Callendars to pie a pie, and came home with three. That binge about made me diabetic. Then I get on fast food binges and I'll go buy more food than I could possible eat in one sitting but DAMNIT I do try.

My saving grace has been the local 'Boston Market' and the local BBQ joint.

It's fast food, but not really. Whatever comes down the pike for you, you'll learn to deal with it.

It is unusual that you didn't get sick from your first shot. I got sicker than a dog my first shot. Vomiting, the whole 9 yards. Haven't vomited from another shot since. (21/48)

Today, I had some 'Weinersnitzel'. I dont' know if they have those many places. Fast food. Hot dogs. Like 'pup and taco' without the taco part.

Anyway, I was at the drive up and they have 'chili dogs' and then they have 'all beef chili dogs' so, I inquire about the difference. The girl says, 'One is all beef, the other isn't.' I laugh and ask her,' Well what is the other one ? '

Longest pause EVER ......

Finally after a few seconds she comes back, 'It's not 100% pure beef..'

I laugh OUT LOUD, literally.

I could have gone on and on about it but the truth is, I don't think anyone knows what is actually in a hotdog and most people are too scared to ask.

I was really pushing the line of one of the greatest taboos in society there;
Inquiring about the contents of a hotdog.

i was wondering if i didn't have nausea after the first shot and the riba, does that mean that maybe i won't get any nausea? or is the whole disgust with food thing more likely to happen after an accumulation of the tx meds?

LOL Isn't it funny how we get binges? I like Taco Bell too, but only the bean burritos with extra onions. Can't drink pepsi or coke, it burns. Sometimes I can eat a ton of stuff and others a bite or two at best. If I don't eat right when I am hungry, the appetite goes away.

I seemed to somehow crave Taco Bell when txing too!  My husband would look at me and say, "Why can't you eat others stuff like that?".  Honestly I could chow it down!  

Haven't had it since EOT tho.  Hmmmmmmm.  It does sound pretty good.

lol not fair.... going to taco bell is prohibitive right now.... I live in a small town and the nearest Taco Bell is 45 mins away. and right now we have about 8 inches of snow on the ground.  but gawds that sounds good.
