Blood-Virus Cleaner?

while I've been following the news about this Mike Vick dogfighting ashole, I was on CNN and saw this story, the biotech engineering company that is developing this says it could be used in Hep C, and while it's not a cure per se, it could take *much* of the virus out of the blood...(some rep or the owner of the company says) (there is, I think, one that they use that's a portable, and another that's not)

I have heard that they have been using these blood cleaners for years in Europe, particularly Switzerland, etc...for years...If anyone saw that movie Rock Star, some old rocker was hooked up to one in the movie....Kieth Richards is purposted to have used them, along with many other substance abusers....anyway, there is a story on it on CNN and here is the link to the company....
