The phase 1 trials for the new Boceprevir are in progress as we speak...i think there is only 14 people doing the trial right now...Boceprevir has no rash like the Telaprevir
thats what i want to hear! great
You bet....im on the Boceprevir as we speak and i have no rash or side seffects
It is interesting stuff. As to the article:
"According to the company, SCH 900518 is 10 times more potent than other medications in this class and is active against highly resistant Hepatitis C strains
Schering-Plough, a science-based healthcare company, has announced that it is developing a highly potent next-generation oral hepatitis C protease inhibitor that has future best-in-class potential. "
Does this mean it is 10x better than Vertex? And no rash? Wow.
you need to come again.....come on.....smile
my GOD....seems like your all mad at me....are you?....i just posted a rough figue...i am pretty much on the numbers ..im not a math expert or anything....close enuff for me anywho
Base VL...20,600,000
Wk 2 ............54,500...2.58 log drop from day one
Wk 4.................6150...3.52 log drop from day one
I don´t need your glasses in sweden we use comma as you use dot.
A six log drop for you would be coming down to 20.6 and a seven drop 2.6
A four log drop for you would be comin down to 2060 iuml
have you done that NO, you havent got a 4 log drop at week 4 and neither did you
have a 3log at week 2 a three log would be 20600 iuml see the list and imagen there is no commas or commas where you want them!!!!
ca
I HAVE an extra pair of glasses you can have...my baseline VL was 20,600,000....
not 20,600000 as you say
YOu hasn´t dropped 4 log 20,600000 1 log drop is
a 1 log drop is 2,060000
2 log is 206000
3 log is 20600
4log is 2060
5log is 206
6log is 20,6

An ongoing Phase IIa study on Schering-Plough's next generation Hepatitis C protease inhibitor is encouraging. According to the company, SCH 900518 is 10 times more potent than other medications in this class and is active against highly resistant Hepatitis C strains
Schering-Plough, a science-based healthcare company, has announced that it is developing a highly potent next-generation oral hepatitis C protease inhibitor that has future best-in-class potential.
As part of its long-term commitment to hepatitis C therapy, Schering-Plough is developing SCH 900518 (518), a next-generation hepatitis C virus (HCV) protease inhibitor. A Phase IIa study with 518, known as the Next-1 study, is currently ongoing.
The company said that 518 has been shown to be 10 times more potent in-vitro than other protease inhibitors currently in Phase III development and has the potential for once daily dosing. The protease inhibitor also has shown decreased emergence of resistance in vitro. Given its pharmacokinetic profile, the company anticipates that 518 may be active against some HCV strains that are resistant to other protease inhibitors.
Phase I proof of concept studies with 518 in treatment-naive patients and those who failed prior treatment, both as monotherapy and in combination with peginterferon, demonstrated enhanced antiviral activity, with up to 4log10 and 5log10 decreases in circulating HCV, respectively, the company said.

Rocker,
I must have missed that, which you sent me about the newer, more powerful BOC drugs... I'm all for it, when I'm allowed to do it, you know!
Susan400
i meant to say there is newer BOC drugs out now that are 10 times more potent taht the current BOC drugs that im doing now...they are now doing the brand news trials for the new potent PI`s....
Fantastic news! Great gift for the holidays!
Keep up the good work.
Best of luck!
Charm
Your doing something right.Keep on pushing that rock to the edge of the cliff !
Tammy
You did get the info i sent you on the new BOC drugs that are now in trial mode....CHECK THIS OUT....10 times more effective than the current SOC drugs that i am doing now....THIS THE MIRACLE YOU WANTED.
I was thinkn bout the same thing...im respondind to the SOC drugs better than my last round of tx back in 2006...im thinkn they maybe improved the SOC drugs in some way...who knows,,,looks like we all are gettin good results so far....THANKING THE BIG GUY ,IN THE SKY
You know i will help you when the time comes.......I"m pretty good at research and letters and talking to insurance and one way or the other on that marvelous day we will get you IN.
I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! I have to say that I'm just a wee bit jealous, too! As you know, I wanted to be accepted into the Bocep. trial, but wasn't allowed to. When and if it ever becomes FDA approved, it's the first of the 2 protease inhibitors that I'm going to be interested in. There will be alot of hurdles for me to get it as far as getting insurance to pay for it (now that as of Jan. 1st, I'll have prescription drug insurance again), but it is an HMO with a drug formulary so it may be alot of begging and jumping through hoops to get them to allow me to take it. If not, I'll try to go through their drug program that the drug company offers. Anyhow, the point of this message is for me to say, YIPPEE for you. I'm really, really, keeping good thoughts for you for SVR, my friend.

Awesome news, can you believe how well we are responding to SOC? This is just the best!

Popping in her late but just wanted to say...thanks for sharing your good news, so glad to hear how well you're doing this time! Hoping you'll get just what you want throughout your tx, and of course SVR!!!

XOXO to ya!!!
