It is interesting stuff. As to the article:

"According to the company, SCH 900518 is 10 times more potent than other medications in this class and is active against highly resistant Hepatitis C strains
Schering-Plough, a science-based healthcare company, has announced that it is developing a highly potent next-generation oral hepatitis C protease inhibitor that has future best-in-class potential. "

Does this mean it is 10x better than Vertex? And no rash? Wow.

I don´t need your glasses in sweden we use comma as you use dot.

A  six log drop for you would be coming down to 20.6 and a seven drop 2.6

A four log drop for you would be  comin down to 2060 iuml

have you done that NO, you havent got a 4 log drop at week 4 and neither did you
have a 3log at week 2 a three log would be  20600 iuml see the list and imagen there is no commas or commas where you want them!!!!

CHECK THIS OUT....25th November 2008
An ongoing Phase IIa study on Schering-Plough's next generation Hepatitis C protease inhibitor is encouraging. According to the company, SCH 900518 is 10 times more potent than other medications in this class and is active against highly resistant Hepatitis C strains
Schering-Plough, a science-based healthcare company, has announced that it is developing a highly potent next-generation oral hepatitis C protease inhibitor that has future best-in-class potential.

As part of its long-term commitment to hepatitis C therapy, Schering-Plough is developing SCH 900518 (518), a next-generation hepatitis C virus (HCV) protease inhibitor. A Phase IIa study with 518, known as the Next-1 study, is currently ongoing.

The company said that 518 has been shown to be 10 times more potent in-vitro than other protease inhibitors currently in Phase III development and has the potential for once daily dosing. The protease inhibitor also has shown decreased emergence of resistance in vitro. Given its pharmacokinetic profile, the company anticipates that 518 may be active against some HCV strains that are resistant to other protease inhibitors.

Phase I proof of concept studies with 518 in treatment-naive patients and those who failed prior treatment, both as monotherapy and in combination with peginterferon, demonstrated enhanced antiviral activity, with up to 4log10 and 5log10 decreases in circulating HCV, respectively, the company said.

I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!   I have to say that I'm just a wee bit jealous, too!   As you know, I wanted to be accepted into the Bocep. trial, but wasn't allowed to.  When and if it ever becomes FDA approved, it's the first of the 2 protease inhibitors that I'm going to be interested in.  There will be alot of hurdles for me to get it as far as getting insurance to pay for it (now that as of Jan. 1st, I'll have prescription drug insurance again), but it is an HMO with a drug formulary so it may be alot of begging and jumping through hoops to get them to allow me to take it.  If not, I'll try to go through their drug program that the drug company offers.  Anyhow, the point of this message is for me to say, YIPPEE for you.  I'm really, really, keeping good thoughts for you for SVR, my friend.
