hmmmm I will ask my NP about that when I go next week - I sure hope this bone thingee is temporary - It's the weirdest kind of pain - It is almost like a contraction - it comes and goes quickly, but stays the day sometimes...And it is only in 2 places...

will you be left with the gout or will that go away at some point?

the gout sucked but comes and goes..I read from a post can't remeber go figure  that someone went to a rhuematologist and was told that the interferon can cause a build up on your joints....another possibility? hugs ") shelly

Hi Shelly - Sorry to hear about your gout, ouchie!  I wonder - I take a massive dose of folic acid - could this be bringing on bone pain?  hmmmm I have to research that - thanks for your post ..

I have had gout? and knots appear from nowhere on my knuckles etc, I had the dr check uric acid levels...I know that if you put a shot of lemon juice in your water or drinks it helps even out the uric acid and helps with the pains in the joints, I also have a bad back and take a painkiller for it but sometimes it doesn't touch it..Is it old age I ask myself? or is it from tx? ..doesn't matter cause its still there so best of luck! :)shelly

I don't have a solution to offer... but familier with the experiance!

My situation was kind of like what OH mentioned... It was like old pre-existing became agitated on TX.

I developed Carpal Tunnel Syndrome again too on TX... & it was awful, it would wake me up out of a sleep, & then I had trouble getting back to sleep...

The only other time I ever had it was when I was preggers with my youngest 20 years ago.. & of-course my jerk doc wouldn't give me anything... just like he wouldn't give me any boosters either & I had to survive the majority of my TX with my hemo's averaging 9.3....

I did notice that when my hemo's where down like that, is when The CPS flared the most! When I happened to get lucky & hit a 10... the pain subsided!

He said something about inflammation of the cartilages... but just like when I was pregnant... it mysteriously went away as quickly as it came... within about 6 weeks post!

Maybe try some of those arthritis over the counter pain relievers  ... Heck, I think ya'lls over the counter tylenol has codeine in it... doesn't it..?? Maybe take one before you go to bed so you don't wake up in pain!

I can't believe you are on the down hill slope..... WoW.. That's Great... I know you'll be glad to cross that finish line!
Hang In There!
:)

awww you're very sweet to make that offer - I am okay for now though...I think you're correct about any pre existing issues being brought on from tx - one of the areas where I have the pain is the area where I fractured the bone when I was a kid - funny thing - I never felt pain there before...Hopefully it will go away after the meds stop

best of luck with your SVR - Beth

I think if you have any predisposed condition, tx will bring it out. A few years ago when I tried to write a book, I started getting carpal tunnel. During tx my wrist started aching. I've found a heating pad works wonders.
When my doc started me on neupogen I was worried about bone pain. He gave me a script for ultram, which I only took once. If the pain gets to you, ask your doc for something. I take my last shot tomorrow and would gladly send these to you, if you're interested.     OH

Every bone in my body --- still (5 months post tx) aches.

Pain..

Like the connective tissues, muscles, tendons and ACTUALLY deep inside the bones.

Some days worse than others - some days not so horrid.

But yeah - started on TX. Hoping it will go away.

Mostly in shoulders, pelvic, knees, lower back, neck, and  right below buttocks on my upper thighs in the back... with hip aches.

But the strangest thing is the cartilage in my chest - it started popping on TX --- scares me -- but doesn't really hurt. Just like knuckle cracking. Weird and bothersome but not painful.

Hope your pain goes away you guys.

when my hemo dropped for a few weeks after it hurt in the long bones in the arms......my internist said it was my bone marrow working overtime.  might be anecdotal but.....makes sense to me

thanks for your input Deb!

It's funny, my hemoglobin has been steady all through treatment, no boosters needed - But, a few weeks ago it took a nosedive - It has stabilized now, I am taking large amounts of folic acid and B12 - But I bet that is what is causing the bone pain - My last labs showed my baby hemoglobin cells were large (I think it is the MCV?) Normal is 100 and mine were at 108 - My NP said that usually when that happens it is a lack of B12 - so hopefully with the B12 increases I am taking it will work itself out...
