Bruising?

I am in my 10th week of treatment of Peg/Riba, I am having major bruising issues.  If i so much as bump something Im getting bruises that are huge and purple.  Is this common?

10 weeks of treatment is enough time to develop thrombocytopenia (low platelets) which are components in your blood that are responsible for clotting, and could cause bruising, and in extreme cases, internal bleeding.

Call your treating doc, and if you have copies of your labs, what are your last platelet counts?

I don't think bruising is uncommon....We are most probably more prone because of our lowered hgb levels (anemia)......Ny Girl could probably elaborate more, having crashed 2 cars and a few other trial and tribulations of tx, she must have experience with bruising!

I agree with the above. Supposedly vitamin K can help reduce bruising.
During tx I bruised easily, my skin changed in several ways. The good news is afterwards, things return, more or less, to normal.

Thank you all for your posts...I believe my counts were 213 at my last lab work.  I had lab work done this past Tuesday and I got to the doctors this coming Thursday.  Hopefully he will have some answers.
