Actually some states have Medical MJ... & those that do... swear by it... I don't advocate it, but due to my experiance... I'm not knocking it either (had I of had a source) I certainly would have done it again!
However just as with anything else... it's gonna get processed thru the liver, so it might depend on what grade/stage you are at... ect, ect, ect... it might not be an option for some! I mean anything liver friendly is better.. Right!
BTW: My heptologist takes a 'do it if it helps', approach, cautioning moderation.
There is some guy with cancer who is taking his case to court saying that people are being denied medicine. I wish I could remember the details. I don't remember anything. Maybe I smoke too much?
To be honest I smoked on and off for 25 years.
I quite prior to tx, just to be safe and don't really miss it.
I ask a very well known hepatologist what his thoughts were. He did not have a problem with it. Hubby had just started tx and people were insisting he get on anti's
and he refused. So we ask the dr and he said "to tell you the truth I would rather see you smoke a little than take all the other helpers". This was reassuring to us.
I am on week 22 and hubby on week 8 and have not touched it yet, but if I had hard time, I would not hesitate to try it.
Also, I asked about the increased fibrosis and he said the study that was released was a french study where the participants smoked at least 10 joints a day.
Honestly if you are smoking that much you've got bigger problems ;-)
Like I said I smoked on and off for at least 25 years, but rarely drink (never liked it) and I am a stage 0.
