You can go to the dentist and have your teeth cleaned and novocaine for regular procedures, but no surgery and no scraping of gums. Your doctor has the list.

I have had 2 crowns replaced during therapy. You need to take an antibiotic prior to appts. Ask your Doctor for a script, because if you receive them at the dentist office, they will charge you about $4 a pill. You need 2000 units(4 pills). I took amoxicillin.

Good Luck,
Sandy

If you have the choice, I'd suggest doing any major work prior to beginning tx. I was in the middle of an implant and was going to finish it after tx. My gums began bleeding before I'd even started tx so I went, had the implant work finished and gave my mouth a month to heal prior to tx. I'm really glad I did that as I beleive I've stopped complications. Good Luck.

Sometimes you have no choice.  During tx my dentist found some decay under a crown.  X-rays can't penetrate a crown - the dentist had to remove it in order to see if anything could be done to save the tooth. Waiting might cause me to ultimately lose the tooth, unnecessarily.  But when my dentist took off the crown, she found that the underlying tooth was cracked in two.  It could not be saved.

At this point I had two choices: an implant or a permanent bridge.  Since I'd have to wait to finish treating before doing an implant, and because it is a more invasive procedure, I chose the permanent bridge, which could be done at once.  But I had absolutely no problem with the oral surgery itself, removing the tooth.  Just took antibiotics and went about my business.

Thankd for the kind words.
Honestly, I love my dentist, partly because he's in Bangkok and if I'm going to see him I get to be in Thailand. yum, mango.
Please, don't lose your sense of humor ! Its a life saver.  Really its what is getting me through this. Do what you must, get comedies to watch, read comic books, whatever works for you. Laughter is the best medicine AND has no bad side effects.
If you need a laugh just read Goofydads silly stuff. He makes me laugh.:)

Im trying to get it together and I will somehow someway.

If you knew me you wouldnt believe in a zillion years how a person could alter personalities from good to doom and gloom.

I will survive.

I had one crown replaced on tx and had no antibiotics. That would be considered a regular procedure. However, if you have to have a tooth extracted and it's an emergency, I would get the antibiotics and go have it out but make sure your blood is clotting properly. When I get a bloody nose now it takes twice as long to clot as before tx.
