Flooding here in Indian River (about 1/2 hour south of Susan400) has receded.  I'm in a  tiny town called Sebastian.  Sebastian received 25in (the hightest total on the Treasure Coast) of rain and despite this faired very well due to excellent drainage.  My husband works for the the St. Lucie County School District (Ft. Pierce) as a state certified school bus inspector and diesel mechanic.  He has been  out of work since Tuesday as the entire county of St. Lucie was shut down due to severe flooding and impassible roads.  He is finally returning to work tomorrow.

We are fortunate and I think a lot of people got a good lesson on being lacks-a-dazicle when it comes to tropical storms ... just like hurricanes, they can cause a lot of damage and loss of life.  11 people died in Florida as a result of this storm.

I know I said I wouldn't be back until Nov., but I was snooping around in here and saw this thread.  Just to let you know, I'm alive and well here in Melbourne.  We got walloped!!  Fortunately, I didn't have standing water inside, but I did have some water come into my front bedroom and get the carpet pad wet and a corner of the ceiling/wall.  It was salvagable so, all things considered, I did okay.

Still raining here. Whooo Hoooo, I'm sitting on my arse ALL day :)

(uh huuuuh! I don't know how to even do that, but I will stay home all day!)
Yes Izzy, the yellow is better than the red blob :)  We've had mostly yellow, enough to keep me home today. Sound like a kid getting out of school don't I ?

Thanks Trish!

Apparently it is better to be a yellow blob than a pink or red blob!

We still feel very fortunate.  It is really just wind and rain-just alot at once!!

Seems like wishing you remain dry is a stretch so here's hoping you all remain safe, damage-free and maintain your electrical for the duration.  Take care and hope this passes soon.

Ok-it is definately better to be the green blurb on the radar screen than to be the yellow blurb on the radar screen!

Wow-lots of rain here.

I wonder if those people are still in line waiting to get on the bridge???

I am feelin the love for the electric and cable companies right about now!

Deb....Is North considered Pensacola?....
We have to get you a geography lesson, wasn't that you that asked me about mountains in Fl, LOL!? Pensacola is considered the panhandle I believe, but yeah, NW Fla.

Funny you posted this, I've been a mile a minute past couple weeks and just signed on quickly to check on Fl folks and get PM's! It's horse sale/flights week and flights have been changed to 1 wk. from Sat. 2 of my sons always on board so HAPPY about that!

We're getting pounded right now, rain, winds. Garage is full with Harleys and a couch so moved all vehicles out to the road as I have huge Oaks on both sides of driveway, covering it. Nothing too bad so far and as long as no one get's hurt, too much damage, a great storm. (Halloween Queen here, love stormy, dreary days!)    Stopped at grocery store and umbrella did that blown inside out thing, got soaked so played in the rain a bit when I got home :)  Yard is like a swamp and my house is on top a hill! One of my dogs loves playing int the rain so we played and I hosed her down afterwards. Give her a hose and she's sooo funny to watch!

I'm actually going to get a couple of lazy, off all work days out of this, so I'm not complaining!

Everyone take care, hope all are having some good days if on tx,

I drowned on Monday when the first bands and winds hit, and got caught out in it. I was literally plowing water with my car. They let us work from home on Tuesday morning while it moved through my area. There was a lot of flooding in areas I travel through, but it wasn't too terrible here in my town.

This storm is a drencher! I hope you guys up north fare well.

Lots of rain here...no flooding in my area as we are on high grounds. Heavy breeze but no real gusts of wind here...no power or cable loss....just so much rain...it's kind of nice to lay around on a rainy day.

Marcia...here is a link for Orlando news...radar and all

Thanks for letting me know.

Isobella just checked in, so there are some direct news of the situation now.

I'm praying for all of you, hoping that Fay will turn out to be weaker than expected.

Gee, do I know a lot Jax - I've been spending a lot of time on that subject today.  We have a lot of employees there.  The slow moving storm is about 70 miles away and moving towards Jax tonight. A lot of rain that causes street flooding and enough wind to cause some of the bridges to close.  A real mess for the people that live there.  More inconvienience than danger. Not much power out. Schools are closed. Lots of businesses are closed, others shutting down. A lot of wet people walking around.

Showers, nothing major....lost power today for 1/2 hour that was it.
Northern Florida is getting hammered by so much rain. We got lucky here in South FLorida.

Some of our usual summer storms have been worse than Tropical Storm Fay LUCKILY.

Stay safe everyone!!
GLad you all okay!

THANKS DEB!

We are having pretty strong winds and heavy rain in Jacksonville.  They have closed several of the bridges which means sustained winds of 40mph.

No flooding so far--I think because the rain comes and goes.

I'll be in Orlando this weekend as well.  :-)  We can all beep and wave!!

I hope everyone fares well thru this soaker!
