Coinfected with hepatis B & C

I was just recently diagnosed with hepatis B & C with a platelet count of 109.  Has anyone been diagnosed with both?  I am pretty scared.

Thanks for your words of encouragement.  I am not sure if I cleared hep B. I have another appointment 1/29 to find out more.  The internet can be pretty scary when you look for info, what I consistently found was low platelets can be indicitive of cirrhosis.  I am 36 and a single mom and I am not ready for a "death sentence" I am really glad I found this forum because I don't feel alone. Thanks again for your responses

I have had Hepatis A, B & C.
The A&B I cleared on my own, I'm just dealing with the C.
You didn't mention if you cleared the B or not.

HBV made me really sick and it was quite painful.
I was in the hospital for almost a week with it.

I know it's scary but find yourself a good hepatologist or Gastro Doc who specializes in Hepatitis.  It's not a death sentence.  As a matter of fact, I just had my first biopsy and I have minimal damage Stage1/Grade1.  So having B&C does NOT always mean you will progress faster. Dr. Schiff in Miami told me, part of progression has to do with the genes. (He said I have good genes  LOL)
I did give up alcohol 20 something years ago and that has also saved my liver. You'll be OK, just get yourself a good doc...

I am not coinfected - only have hep c.  I am new to these boards but I'm sure there are some out there who will offer some words of encouragement.  Take the time to learn as much about this disease as you can and you will not be so fearful.  Another website I have found which is very supportive is Janis & friends.  Check it out. Good luck to you.
