Cryoglobulinemia / Electrophoresis

I have researching back into the archives and I notice a person called "Hepatitus (hepatitis) Researcher." Does anyone know how I can reach this person? Is this a board member?

I am looking for anyone with any information on Electrophoresis, which is suppose to get rid of the cryoglobulin.

Also, in reading the cryo test results, I really do not understand, what is normal and what is not? I know their are 3 types and what the description is for each. I go to Quest and their report shows three sets of numbers. The first being mine and then to rows of other numbers?

Any & all help would be appreciated!

Hope everyone has a good day, or better than yesterday!!

I think Kalio, Forseegood, and somebody else (?) have contact info.

Electrophoresis should be available through alternative treatments or physical therapy... I think.

I never had this procedure in the US, but in Europe they prescribe it for almost anything.  It is based on transfer of ions of appropriate medication with help of electric current (mild, it is very safe, but I'm not sure about effectiveness).

All the best!

Hi I think the procedure you should be researching is called plasmapheresis, not electrophoresis :-)  It is essentially a blood-filtering process that filters the cryglobulins, which are relatively large molecules.  I had a blood test for them last week.  The doc told me the results were "negative"  although I didn't see the actual report.  I don't think it is normal to have any cryoglobulins in the bloodstream.   I don't know anything about what might constitute high or low quantities, so I can't offer anything about that.  If you googe cryoglobulin and plasmapheresis you will get mostly technical articles, but sometimes you can make sense of them.

Hope this helps

Hi again.  Here is a bit of reliable info.  Apparently the procedure is uncommon in the U.S.  They do it at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville FL.
