Digestion Problem... Long period!!

Digestion Problem... Long period!!

Hi,
I am having digestion problem from last 3 years. I tried many treatments but nothing worked. Many things, which I eat can't able to digest properly(or "at all") that means the only part which help in digestion is teeth,There is no digestion process happen in stomach..... this include many things such as "tomato, banana, some cereals etc. Many times back I was having a solution regarding it. I was using "Sporlac(Lactic Acid)" tablets before meal. But that didn't worked for a long time :(. Before this problem. Once I suffered from Hepatitis. One doctor told me that it is due to Malaria. But I don't know what I should do. Thanks for taking interest in the post

Sorry to hear about your problem and you didn't state,,,,Did you do treatment to get rid of your hep c?
More and more are reporting some sides they developed after completing the tx.  My husband has indigestion and has for along time so not due to hep c and had to get a prescription from the dr and seems to help him out now.

Hi Ina, haven't seen you posting for a long long time.  How is the post tx world for you?  Have any of the skin issues cleared or are you still terribly sensitive to sunlight?  Have you had any more PCRs - is it time for your 1 year PCR yet?

After my last tx I had enough digestive problems to last me 2 lifetimes.
It started shortly after finishing tx. Couldn't tolerate eggs, beans, tomatosauce, onion, garlic, vinegar, broccoli, cauliflower etc. plus certain medications.

Kept getting the same story from docs...Irritable bowel, you have to learn to relax, your insides need to heal from all that Interferon, blah blah blah.

Turned out I had become gluten sensitive, most likely from tx.
I am on a gluten free diet now, and I can tolerate everything, that is everything except foods with gluten.
Cramps are gone, bloating is gone, stinky farts are gone, diarrhea gone, awful stinky bowel movements are history.
I used to go through a roll of toilet paper a day, what a mess each time...now a roll lasts 10 days.

Colonoscopy, endoscopy, H-pylori, fecal studies for: ova and parasites, leucocytes, fat, occult blood, and C-deficile.
Blood tests for inflammatory bowel disease and Crohn's, colitis at the cecum, pancreatic enzyme studies, hypo or hyper hydrochloric acid, and finally a small bowel study, and looking for food allergies.

Maybe I forgot something, but those test come to mind when people suffer from ongoing digestive problems.

Hi friole,
sorry I didn't get here sooner.
I had my one year PCR as usual at National Genetics, and it was undetected. That was only a few weeks ago.
I am parting from approx 230 Copegus, which don't expire until Feb.08.
If you think you might be tx again and have a use for them, I'll be happy to send them to you.

SVR life is not what I had expected. I am not even close to how I felt before tx.
Everything DD always talked about is happening to me as well.
Jim just said that last week that he fell into a hole of nothingness, and I am keeping him company there.
I am not sad, I am not crying...I just don't feel anything. I am bland, boring, and dull...I can't enjoy anything, I can't get exited about anything.
I am in the land of the living dead.
I am finally able to tolerate Lexapro, and am in the process of upping the dosage.
I was great spirits during tx...never expected to feel such a let down.
Concentration, focusing, the usual jazz, are all still far from normal. I thought I was a zombie during tx... you should see me now.
My skin has greatly improved, and I don't expect to walk with a facemask or umbrella this summer.I expect to have laser tx on my face this fall, which hopefully will take care of all the spider veins that Rosacea left behind.

The gluten free, and very low carb diet are a pain in the arse, but I finally got the glucose back to were it was before tx, and the tryglycerides as well.

The list goes on friole, but I better stop here.
The good thing is I didn't have a single stye in many month, and I am seeing the first new hairs coming in.

I don't know if you remember, but I tapered off meds for 2 month, hoping to avoid post tx sides. If I had to do it again, I would reduce meds slowly over at least a 6 month period of time.

I haven't been keeping up with the board, and not sure how you have been doing.
I wish you well Kathy, and let me know if you want the Riba.

For those that don't know me:
I was a 2a, relapser, viral load just over 1 mill, cryoglobulinemia, pos RA, estimated stage 3.

I tx over 2 years the second time around, because I had a 9 month pos PCR, after having been neg at 3 and 6 month.
I developed Crohn's disease 6 weeks into tx, and lost half of my Riba for the next 4 month.
I figured my chances had diminished to the point, that only extended tx would give me a shot at SVR.
My second Doctor gave me his blessings, and I tx with standard Peg and 800 mg Riba for 111 weeks, at which point I felt near death and started to taper off drugs for another 2 month.
I am 60 years old.
