" any thoughts on sov/oly and the neuro stuff? hormones? i am still going through menopause and the hot flashes /sweats/depression is pretty bad..the fibromyalgia does not help!
so a year after clearing to really heal? well maybe by then i will be over the meno and maybe the neuro/hormones will settle down..

Yes, please try to stay away from people. Some have gotten pretty sick right after treating.
If you have to go out, wash your hands. I have read that flu season is bad this year.
It took me a while to feel 'normal' again post tx. I suggest a good massage, if you can swing it. The intensity of tx can cause lots of tension which we store in our muscles.
Good luck,
Thanks Kim for this info. The feel good part is taking a long time to return. I am almost 9 months eot, and the feel good part started kicking in a month or so, but is not fully returned. I have been have having a hard time reading novels, I wonder if that is part of it. I can read light, short fiction, but just can't get into longer reads. I am planning 2 camping trips in May and June, and hopefully that will help me reboot. I didn't get to camp last year, and I really missed it. My ear buzzing is getting a little better in one ear, the Vitamin C w Biovavonoids seems to be helping, the dental work on the other side is probably delaying my other ear. It doesn't bother me but I am aware of it. Yup, powerful Tx, it was worth it knowing my liver is good now.
I think we forget sometimes that the treatment consists of some Powerful drugs so it's gotta take awhile to get them out of your system
Feel better Deb!

Hi Kim......well that makes a lot of sense when I come to think about it. Thank you for sharing that info w/me and others and thanks for the kind words. It's always much appreciated
BTW, how are you doing these days, hope this finds you stronger than ever
Hugs

Hi Deb. In regards to feeling dizzy, it takes awhile for that Riba to leave your system. In fact personally 3 months post Tx elapsed before I was feeling kinda normal.
What really concerned me post Tx was my feeling of depression. I'm not the type of person whom has ever been depressed. Never have taken any meds for mood disturbances as I'm always happy and wake- up on the sunny side of the bed.
The Riba experience was a new emotion which was perplexing and found me curious to say the least. Ventured on line and did some research as to Why? this was happening. Seems as tho the Riba enters the neuro transmitters which regulate endorphins, dopamine, ect. In essence your body is temp robbed of these feel good hormones and it takes a few months to reregulate back to normal.
Sharing this as I wish someone had told me what to expect as I was kinda caught of guard. This may not happen to you but if it should, no worries. In the end your life eventually will return to normal given some time.
The physical components do linger as well. Continue to get plenty of rest and keep up with good nutrition habits. I wish you much success in beating this virus, and anticipate a even brighter future.
Best to you
.....Kim
Group hugs are great! My husband was just reading me exerpts from an article which talked about the positive affects of bonding (in a different context), we we got to talking about how true that is in all situations. This Forum is a prime example of that!!! Being in touch with others, truly is one of the best medicines available to us!

You ladies are great...so much support from you guys and always when needing it the most. You know I think we are very fortunate to have stumbled onto this forum. Yaaaay for us.
(((Hugs to all)))

Hey there! Please don't feel alone, as everyone above has said, this is normal. Normal for someone who just finished some heavy duty meds. It will improve, just give it time.
I remember when I finished and felt so bad. I even posted a question asking if I should have weaned off of the meds.
As everyone has said, please continue to drink water, it is your friend. Eat as well as you can....hell eat some junk if it appeals to you.
I think some comfort food is called for :)
Yes, please try to stay away from people. Some have gotten pretty sick right after treating.
I caught something a couple of months after finishing tx and was sick for a couple of more. My doctor said there was something going around.
If you have to go out, wash your hands. I have read that flu season is bad this year.
My best to you, hang in there, it does improve.
My doctor told me to keep telling myself, it was the medication. Easier said than done but I did write it down to remind myself :)

Hi Deb,
I am 9 1/2 months eot now, and am doing really good. Skin is back to normal, hair is getting better, still straight and dry but improving, keeping it really short as it grows out. The buzzing in my ears is decreasing a little, but still there. Physical energy is fantastic! Am walking 2 1/2 miles, 3-4 times a week. Creative energy (I am an artist too) is getting better. Still have some anxiety issues, which I had during Tx, so have to avoid certain movies, shows, etc. And who knows what "normal" is, as you say, since it has been 35 years probably since the dragon infected me. But it is nice to be filing for MediCare, which I am doing next month, without the dragon! My nurse told me it takes a full year, at least, after eot, to recover from the Tx. Listen to your body, it will let you know right away if you are overdoing it.
Sandi
Thx a million, kinda blown away by how quickly,oh well.. It's over and time to get back to whatever normal will be, truly looking forward to it though.
Hoping the both of you are feeling even better than before, kinda exciting to see what's around the corner!!
Love you all
Deb
Don't nknow what I did, above. Happy Fingers at work, I guess! As I was saying, I crashed and burned the last day of tx and had a bad first week after tx. BUt, based on advise of Sandi, et. al, I rested, kept up my water intake, continued the same eating patterns, etc, and a week later, felt better. Each week since then has been better. I couldn't always see it at the moment, but in retrospect, I can see the changes. Rest! Be good to yourself. Drink that water. Your body has been through a hard course. It will improve!
Feel better soon! Pat
Hey Deb. I crashedand burned
Hang in there, maybe up your calorie intake. Could be your hemoglobin is low, but that usually will come back up fairly quickly. It truly is a withdrawal of the drugs. We all expect to feel a difference for the better right away, but your body has been a battleground that needs time to heal now. Rest and recover.
Sandi
Wow, good to know I thot maybe a wk or so until I would notice something. I'm a bit scared truthfully.. I will continue the water like you said. Sure hope irritability leaves, it's been a tough one for me.
Thx Sandi, have a good one
Deb
Just super strong drugs leaving your system, and your body going through withdrawal. Keep up with your Tx routine and eating, drinking lots of water. I got sick actually pretty quick after Tx, and with the flu flying around this year be careful. Water is still your friend. Hang in there.
