Do you get a headache from Procrit?

I had a bad headache yesterday could it be from the Procrit? Any sx to that medication?

Yup and sometimes vertigo.

Yes I did on my first and second shot but after that,,,all was ok.  Did you start procrit?

I took my 6th shot on Sat. I didn't get a headache before. Someone said you can also get vertigo. Reflexology is really good for vertigo (just rub the feet).

About 2 days after the Procrit shot I get a headache and a stiff upper back.  Lasts about a day or two.

I finally realized why I got the headache this time. Because I went away last weekend I didn't take my Procrit shot until last Mon. So it was only 5 days later when I had another shot. I usually take them on Sat. That's why I got such a bad headache and disturbed sleep.

I've taken about 7 shots of procrit, but I was blaming my headache on low hgb, not the procrit. It seems like I get a headache when I'm getting anemic and takes a few days to go away. I had been spacing my procrit 9-10 days apart so thought that was causing headaches! Your's was 5 days apart and caused headache! Who knows how these drugs affect us or why! Hang in there, are you almost thru yet?

I got a headache too after my first shot. Haven't taken my second yet, but hoping it'll go away after that. One thing to remember about procrit is that it can elevate blood pressure in some people, so I was thinking that might be why I had a headache. High blood pressure can cause headaches and in extreme cases can even result in strokes. Make sure you monitor your blood pressure while you're on it, especially if you have a pre-existing condition of high BP. Some guy at work had a stroke recently, and he was only 51. He's recovering relatively well now, but it was a scarey situation (and potentially lethal).

I never thought much about the headache while taking Procrit.  The headache was so constant I never noticed a beginning or end, lol.  I did got the bone pain pretty bad.  Sounds like I was a loner with that.  That's good, I hope none of you ever feel that!  I'm happy to take it all for you!

I'm almost half way done with treatment.

My headache was so bad I stayed in bed all day Sat. and could hardly eat any breakfast yesterday.

I took it for about 68 weeks and never got a headache from it.

Of course - that doesn't mean you can't.  I always associated the vertigo with the low hemo - because that started before I started on the epogen (same stuff)

I usually have normal blood pressure. The only time I had high was right after a serious auto accident where my son or I could have died.
