Fatigue After SVR

by merlino, Apr 29, 2009 07:50AM
Hello Everyone,

Hope you all are doing well. Its been over a year since SVR and about 2 months ago I went thru a period of extreme fatigue. Went to see dr all is well. This is the second time this happened. I am in the best shape I have ever been. Eat healthy, do gym 3x a week. I am 53 but this kind of fatigue was different. Would wake up just as tired as I went to bed.Lasts about 2 weeks then goes away.  Anyone else experience this? Is this just a leftover side from tx that I just have to deal with?

Hi - it is good to see your post.  Other than this fatique it seems that you are doing very well.  I wonder if you have had your vitamin B12 checked?  I know that some have been pretty low after tx.  I had mine tested and it was fine after tx but you might try this.  I know my metabolism is a lot lower post tx --I think that year of sitting on the couch made some bad habits.

It's good to see you're doing well other than the fatigue. My treatment ended (48) June 2007 and I relapsed Sept 2007. Just like you, I wake up tired and ready for a nap by 0900. I don't know if it's from the hepatitis or leftover sides from tx or because my thyroid was toasted during treatment. Probably all three of them. I know my ability to multi task is gone and I can't remember simple things any more. I'm 56 and healthy...or was. frijole might have something with the B12 though. I see my doctor in a couple weeks and I think it's time to get some answers from him on some of my issues. Good to see you again. Best of luck merlino.

I never got my spunk back. I have energy for work (an office job) but I fade fast on bike rides or other physical activities. Exercise makes me sleepy - nap time tired. It used to take a long day of a lot of stuff to do that. Not now.

B12 helps. Neurologist had me start taking it for my neuropathy and it has a noticeable effect on my fatigue.

Thanks Everyone. Going to ask dr about B12. Also, I never really put back all the weight I lost.   Elaine so nice to hear from you!!!! Hope you are doing well. Girls are so so. My older daughter is doing great, the youngest is still having a rough time....Hoping to hear from FLGuy and NYGirl.
