Feel like S**t

Feel like S**t

Do some people have good days and bad days while on treatment. I felt horrible for like  4 days and the next two I felt better.and the following day not so hot. Are the symtoms (symptoms) going to be all over the place? Has this ever been the case for anyone else?

Poor baby, I know how you feel.  Long story short, yes the sides will be all over the place. Odds are though that you'll eventually settle down into a daily grind. Don't worry too much about it, you are very young and the strength and reslience that comes with youth will likely make your experience tolerable. Just keep that finish line in mind at all times. And keep the HCV free life that awaits you once you're done. Hang in there in the meantime, you can make it.

Yeppers, you're normal for being abby-normal.  That's what they call the rollercoaster part of tx.  You just never know what to expect.

Keep on keep'in on.

Jess --- I called it the merry-go-round of sides.

Some days were fine - others were upsy downsy daisy.

And some days no function at all.

Some day one side would rear it's ugly head --- others ---- another would pop up...

It's like a roulette wheel --- or a lottery wheel --- so hang on for the ride.

BUT KNOW THIS:

It does get better when you get off the TX. It really does.

It takes a little while --- but there is total hope - ok?

I am on week two and I am doing the same. I have yet to have a good day but I have been up and around. As soon as I started feeling better it was time for the shot and all HELL broke loose.
Good luck

Looks like this wasn't a good week for the newbies, me included.

I had an unexpected trip to Wyoming on Tuesday.  Was feeling fine up until Wednesday when I just felt crappy with a bad headache and I couldn't sleep.  Not sure if that was due to the crappy hotel or the ribavarin, but either way it made me miserable.  Then on the flight home today I got nauseous and irritable.  The 2 people next to me wanted to talk, and all I wanted to do was smother them with a pillow!

I guess with all the drugs in us, it's bound to happen.  Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

The only time I got a bad headache on tx was when I didn't drink enough water. My headache lasted all night. Sorry you had to go on a long trip, it makes it harder to drink enough water. My nausea ended when I started taking my riba 9 almonds in the morning and ice cream at night. The last month or so my complexion turned a Iovely gray color. How many weeks are you doing? I did 51.

I believe you hit the mark about not enough water.  And I am going to give the almonds a try.  It is hard waking up and trying to take the riba and eat something.  Some almonds are definitely doable.

I'm doing 24 wks,

Hi, sorry your both starting out rough. I was okay 1st couple weeks, than SLAM and only 1 really 'good' day in past 2 weeks :{  However I am really lucky in barely any nausea and can still eat well, at certain times, NO appetite some times and than live on fruit, yogurt, juice, ice cream....anything 'smooties' a lot. Putting carnation instant breakfast in them sometimes.
Hoping it'll 'taper' off. Someone had posted a few mths. back and an answer was that it can be worse at 1st, than taper, get easier (as long as anemia, serious sx don't hit.) BUT, most I have ready lately is the opposite :{
Ted, I do think traveling may get rough. I don't want to 'travel' to Walmart right now! (2 miles away!)
Gramma, buying some almonds:} your right on the headaches and water, drinking way more. Strangley, I have found sleeping on my left side I get headaches, laying on my right have not and the one I had actually went away??? Did this thru several headaches, worked??
Hope you feel better (me too:}

Took my 3rd shot yesterday and felt pretty "hung-over" this morning.  Rested all day and feeling a little better this evening.  I am heading to Chicago tomorrow for a week long trip.  Hopefully all will go well.

Wanted to wish you all a great week and hope you all feel well.

That was my pattern pretty much the entire 48 weeks. I would feel good for 2 or 3 days then, shot time. It's a bummr but just appreciate those good days and do what you can. I mainly used those days to shop and mow the lawn etc etc. I've been painting the house, putting up crown molding and redoing the baseboards and looking back, I kinda wish I'd have started that on my tx as it would have been something to pass the time and I could do a little at a time. ( I'm now nearly 3 months post tx and feel pretty darn good although, the guy at the local 7-11 told me 'I looked worn out' when I walked up to pay for my stuff and it kinda freaked me out. I went home and looked in the mirror thinking...damn, I look okay, don't I ? )

Just hang in there and try try try not to pay attention to how you feel on a minute by minute bases. You're gonna feel like hell sometimes. That's just the way it is.

Jessica, just wanted to wish you the best during treatment...good days, bad days...drink lots of water because I really feel the difference if i don't drink enough. I also ended up having to take 1/2 an ambien at night to sleep, the insomnia was killing me. I'm on week 21of what I was hoping to be 24 weeks, but am a slow responder so extending to 48.

Ted, Hope you have a great trip...remember the water!

I took my 11th injection yesterday, and last week was the worst!  I go up and down as well, but my 'ups' aren't so 'up' *laughing*.  I'm so thankful I don't have a job to go to cause I would have lost it at this point.  Not a shot I could work...I can hardly hold up a conversation!

week 4 here, or should I say weak....

'suse me while I go hug my toilet.

only good news is, my toilet is a Toto brand...and has the name prominently displayed when the seat is up for tx purposes.

so I can remember it's name easy, and tell it "we're not in kansas anymore"....whatever helps : ))
