Final Moments for Hubby's life

Let me start by introducing myself to the newcomers.  I have finished the hepc 48 wk tx.  I am now over 1 1/2 yrs post and UND.  1b female 54 on Sept 27.

Now for alll my friends who have endured the rements of all the hurricanes out there.  Hope all is well and everyone is okay.  My family did get Gustav, weathered it okay.  Looks like an active season so all stay aware.  And, my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

For those that do not know. My husband has Hodgkins Lymphoma, we have dealt with since 2003.  Chemo, then 3 1/2 yr remission, back with a vengence, did stem cell 2 yrs ago at UCLA, back fierce within 3 wks. Did chemos for the next two years to give him borrowed time, the last year we did our family vacations etc etc. He took an extreme turn about 2 weeks ago and had to call in Hospice, I could not do it on my own anymore.  My friends and family have come in to help me these last two weeks.  I know he has only, well I am afraid to put an s on days left.  He is taking in no more food or water.  They have him on liquid morphine and liquid adivan.  He cannot swallow anymore.  My boys J/ senior this year and my boy T is in 8th grade.  Saddiest is that he will not be here to see them graduate.  He is in the final stages of his body shutting down.
I and my boys are totally at peace with what is happening. They have done their grieving for the last two years of long drawn out painfull disease their father has been fighting and now all they want for him is peace.  I have been at peace with it since hospice gave me a booklet to reading regarding the transition from one life to the other and things went into place for me.  I let go and let God; because I am not the pilot to this situation he is and now things are being taken care of with ease.  Somehow I just know what is needed of me next and it turns out right, so yes God is piloting this home and home life around here there is no other answer for the peace this family has at this crucial time in our lives.

I will try to check in again sometime today; but minute by minute I know not what is around the next corner for me to follow the next path for what I am suppose to be doing.

Well had to come in a vent a little and I want to thank you all for letting me bend your ears, I have been up since 1:00 am today, it is now 4:30 am California time.

Everyone HAVE A GREAT DAY, and if there are any that I have missed their UND success, let me Congradulate you now and hoping the best for all that has to fight HepC. No Fun:(  but it is DOABLE my friends.  My opinion on this tx, and that probably has a factor of what stage your liver is in at the time of tx; but my belief is Hit it Hard really Hard at the beginning of tx, unless of course you have problems with blood counts.  I truly believe that is what  allowed me to cure.  I will go into the story of why I believe this later.  My day will start soon with my boys getting up for school in a few hours so I am going to start preparing their breakfast.

Life Goes On, the Lord sees to that.

Sorry I missed this also.

My sympathies to you and your sons, family. Having been thru similar, watched loved ones fight, suffer and lose to a disease and having been thru the hospice passing....I am so relieved to hear how accepting and at peace you and your sons are in this. It is often selfish of us to wish one to 'keep going' , stay with us when they are suffering so.
Hospice is a wonderful organization.

I wish you the best, continued peace and healing in the days ahead.

Thoughts and prayers, LL

I want to thank you all for your prayers and good wishes.  This morning at 8:30 my husband passed away.  My sister is due into LAX at 4 today, so I now have a family member here in California.  She had to beat the hurricane out of Louisiana and across Texas to get here; but the Lord saw fit for her to get a flight out.  I will see her in about an hour, that will be nice.
We do have some fond memories.  We took this last year and fullfilled some of our family dreams and those will always be with me in memory and pictures we took.

I will post later and give an update.
Thanks and Love to All

Blessings to you, your spouse and your boys. It's a bittersweet time, to be certain. Many people want their loved one to stop suffering and to be at peace, and some experience guilt for wanting that. Sometimes there are even more profound feelings of anger and abandonment after the passing. It's a difficult journey and process.

My prayer is that you and your family will feel the strength of His loving arms wrapped tightly around each of you in the hours and days ahead.  May you all be comforted by the whispers of the angels wings filling the rooms around you.

I have journeyed down the hospice road several times with precious family members - each experience unique and wonderful in its own way.  One of my favorite memories of my Aunt and Godmother were whispered to me in a hospice room.  She asked me if I could hear the angels music and she began humming - I just smiled not exactly sure how to respond.  The next thing she said was that she could see them polishing her halo.  At this point we bowed our heads in prayer she passed with a smile on her face less than two hours later.  That peace and understanding will remain with me always - and I pray that you experience it also.

I'm so saddened to hear of this with your husband.  You know you can come hear to vent anytime.  It's always difficult to hear of losses in one's family.

Even tho I don't post as often as I used too, I still feel like everyone here is part of my family.
