Finished treatment!!!

Finished treatment!!!

Just poped back to the site to see how's things.  I am finished now, but to be honest I stopped two weeks before the time as we were on Holidays in Mallorka, and I just didn't want to spoil the good moods (As the second and third day after injections I turned into a phyco). Still , obviously because I was getting of drugs, I got even worse and freaked constabtly for the first half of the holidays.... Well you can't win. Now waiting for the results of post treatment tests.
Wanted to say hallo to everyone,
Marcia, how's your treatment going?

Congratulations on finishing. Is the itching gone also? I know that you are geno 3, but how many weeks did you complete total? Not judging at all, I stopped at 16 weeks.
Take care, love your pictures!

I am so happy for you!  It is a triumphant feeling to finish tx.  I too went a little psycho at the very end of tx and started on an AD which helped me tremendously.

Good luck to you and again CONGRATULATIONS!

Congrats girl!!! I'm so glad it's over for you.
All the best on your road to SVR.... get it girl, get it!

Wow... that was fast. It seems to me you started just yesterday! And I know it seems to you like you were on tx forever.

That's how I feel after 5 weeks. It's gotten the toll of me and I feel like krap. Have had no itching though.

Hugs, marcia

Thanks to everyone,

I finished on week 22. Not because I couldn't bear it, but because something inside told me it is ok and I have done enough... I do listen to that inner voice and it proved to always be right, so I am just believing in a happy ending...

I got some Piriton (chlorphenamine maleate 4mg pill), it was strong and made me drowsy, but helped coping with the itch...  Itching went down a bit, but there is still a spot, where it all started that gets a bit itchy. I think that the rash and the itching drove me to the edge, but overall it was bearable, as you know what is causing the sx, and that they will fade away. I lost almost 10 ponds (5kg) over the course, but since I finished 3 weeks ago, I gained a little bit, and don't look so sick anymore. My hair still falls out, but I see new hair is growing. I had to cut my hair short from beautiful long curly style, and even though I tried to cheer myself up at the time, I can't wait for it to grow back...
I did my post tx bloods, but it will take time for the result. Hoping for the better.
Bug and Marcia, you were real good support throughout bad times, thank you girls so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The result are usually ready a month after the tx is finished, but I live in another county now and visits to the doctor are somewhat complicated.... So I wil wait 6 month, do another one and then go to the doctor for the final verdict,
Bug, I only lasted 22 weeks as I got something to help coping with the itching.... and I was going on holidays and stopped, thinking that it will be easier to enjoy myself.... However, little did I know about the imediate effects of getting off the drugs- I was emotionally unstabled and  the fatigue- I couldn't move..... Half of my holidays were messed up.... Should have stayed on them...
Getting a bit better now, my skin is much less dry as it got by weeks 18-20.... Just wonder how long will it take for the hair to stop falling out- I am sick of making up excuses in the hairdresser's- they keep giving me back looks :-)

I think emotionally, I was triumphant. I was so glad to be off the drugs.
Physically.....I was a wreck. My itching got worse, (as I told you) my hair continued to fall out, and my immune system was so supressed I got sick with any little "bug" going around the nursing home.
My hairdresser said once"I'm sorry, I can't make you look like you have hair on this side."
My hair fell out more on the right side of my head, leaving this lopsided asymetrical look, like I had brain surgery on one side:)
Oh good times good times! I can laugh now because I'm through, cleared, and soon you will be reporting the same good news!!
Be well--hugs,
Bug
