First Appointment

Well, today I have my first appointment with my Hepatologist. My husband can't go with me, but my dear, dear friend of over twenty years, who also happens to have received her PA degree from UT Southwestern, is going with me. She also worked for an infectious disease physician for a few years. I'm so grateful to have her back in my life. We lost touch for many, many years and recently reconnected. We have been there for each other through some pretty trying times in the past and the friendship has just picked right back up. I wish everyone could have such a friend. I'm very anxious and frightened, but having her there with me is such a comfort. PLUS, she can explain everything the doctor says. :)

Bravo! Having a friend/advocate with you, while you are at your first appt., should be an immense help.
That is so great, and touching, that you two long time friends are now reunited :)
