Fried green tomatoes, chicken, and catfish....does a heart good......

Hello guys! Happy belated Easter!  The earth isn't flat, and I haven't fallen off, but rather just stepped back a little to refocus and breathe and have been moving cautiously through unchartered territory since moving from Florida to Georgia after 20 something years to be closer to my family.  I guess the reason that I did such a move was I thought that at the end of the day I won't be wishing that I spent more time at the "office" but as mentioned with my family. The move went well, and so far I've had few regrets.....( the year is still young however.....and I won't move or act preciptiously either in disclosure to family just yet as I'm holding my own and feeling well.)

I have a new HIV Dr that I really like as well as Hep C Dr there in Atlanta.  I'm still UND in my HIV......taking every pill, every dose, everyday routine.  My Hep C counts since failing TX back in '07 are as follows even though I'm still coinfected:  ALT 37 AST 30, Bilirubin 1.2, VL < 2,000,000.  So I guess in short I'm holding out pretty good ( and still hoping and praying for newer drugs to be coming soon.) Just fighting cholestrol numbers instead...........( all of those fried green tomatoes, chicken, and catfish.......Of course my HIV drugs aren't helping either......I'm 259 in my counts overall counts........not sure if that's really high or what.)

I did have one question that I wanted to ask about and it is about the supplement RESVERATROL in pill form of course.  Can that supplement when taken correctly by label dosing cause liver damage?  Spikes in ALT and AST and all related liver counts/numbers?  I've read mixed reviews concerning this supplement, and am interested in adding it to current supplements, but don't really know enough about it or what direction I should approach with.  Any thoughts?  My current supplements that I take are:  SAM-e, Milk Thistle, Multi-vitamin ( no iron ), 4800 mlgs of Fish Oil ( currently had desire to swim more), Niacin and Flaxseed Oil........My question is now about adding RESVERATROL.  Isn't that like wine in pill form?  Not sure......

I'd heard it's been used for fatty liver reduction and mainly for damage done from alcohol......what do you think about it in my particular case.  I will be asking my Dr on my next visit.........Until then take care and stay well and blessed!

Sincerely His,
R

Good to see you back my friend. You're getting close to my neck of the woods with those fried green tomatoes.  Peace be with you.
Bug, I like that "brainy side" description.  Sometimes it gets just plain scary over there!

I wanted to move this question up so it doesn't get lost...........Rick I wish I could help you on the reservatol question.
Maybe you need to post this message on the "brainy" side of the forum, you know, the FORUM vs Social side of the hep c community...........
I love that I have dubbed it the brainy side!  Sorry only smart people over there, Rick, enter at your own risk........just us social "bugs" on this side:)

J,
Missed being here and connecting with you as well.  Had so many times where I'd just wanted to throw in the towel, but found that it wasn't time yet.  I think I started to slide and go down hill a little bit when our dear friend, Elaine, lost her precious son.  That was a time that I just had to stand still, look closely at the brevity of life and reevaluate, prioritize, and decide.  You, as well as many others, I have missed, but keep an eye on things here every now and then.  Hope that you and yours are doing well and are continuing to be blessed!  Am on a trip and fixing to leave out of my hotel room to fly for tonight, but will check and chat up with you soon if not tonight then please check your inbox or email......Until then.....keep looking up!  ( I saw that on a church sign last Sunday and my mind thought of you!

Sincerely His,
R

I'm so blessed to be at home and see your post.....I have missed you so much and didn't know how to reconnect. I don't know about the reservatol, it sounds good in theory. The anti-aging effect without the pleasure of wine?
Please write or send me a personal message, I love you.
