Thanks Bill,  I am geno type 2, and will be starting the treatment soon.  They said that I am  grade 2-3,stage 4, early cirosiss (sp).    Still have to see the doc right before Christmas. Thanks for replying all the time.Happy Holidays

Hi again, Tam—

You have an excellent chance of responding positively to the current interferon/riba combination now, without adding a third component. It still wouldn’t hurt to ask your doctor about protease inhibitors and how they might benefit Genotype 2 patients though. My guess is that with early cirrhosis, he/she’d recommend treating now, however.
