Getting to know you, getting to know me

I thought since this is a new forum and we didn't really post much about ourselves other than medical info in the other, this would be a good time to officially introduce ourselves.

I have been coming to med help hep c forum for over a year now.  It has been an invaluable resource.

I am 34 and I have twin 2 year olds.  I live in TN.  I have been working at home on a current events message board for the last few months.  We have a lot of fun.

I just got a new job when I finished treatment.  I start after Christmas.  I am excited to get out of the house.

If anybody ever needs or wants to chat with a fellow hepper, you can usually find me at http://forums.thepoliticalasylum.com.  I go by Indy there and it feels like I live there so you shouldn't have a problem getting a quick response.  :lol

Hi, my name is Sonia and my user name is Kobats, a nickname given to be by dad years and years ago.  I just found this site, and intend to spend alot of time here, and hopefully I can add some small tidbits of information to those who need it.
I am married to husband number two and could not ask for a better partner!  I am 50 years old and was diagnosed with Hep C five years ago.  Geno type 1.  Had great success with the peg-interferon/rib tx for first 16 weeks and then became non-responsive.  Liver biopsy shows chrohhis (sp?).  End stage liver disease.  Was sent to the Lied Transplant Center in Omaha for evaulation 3 years ago.  Recieved low meld score of 11. Lost my insurance 18 months ago, so have been doing the best I can through a community health care clinic.  Up until two months ago have been quite lucky and was told by Doctor that I was doing very good, that he didn't like using the word remission, but syptoms had been at a standstill for over a year.  For the last two years I have been living in Iowa partime and am now settled permentaltly in Oregon.  Last ammonia test levels in Iowa in May was an 8. November levels were 90 and December levels were 116.  Was on a med (can't remember name of it) for one month, then Doc switched to me to Constulose, which I hear is the most effective med to take to bring ammonia levels down.  The hardest thing to face is the unknown. Does anyone have any stories they care to share about their experiences with high ammonia levels? I don't see in myself where I am having any symptoms from the ammonia levels, however hubby says that I snap at him more often, that I want to sleep more, and that he feels I am confused at times.  I feel that since I have chronic insomnia and it is not unusual for me to be awake for 48 hours straight that it is not abnormal for me to sleep 14 to 16 hours sometimes.  And hey, I live 40 miles up in the mountains with one tv station, two cats, deer and bears, so if I get a chance to visit and get ahead of myself in converstations and try to talk about several things at once--I figure no big deal.  I also have osteoarthritis, rhematoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, esophogitis and acid reflux.  So you asked for it--that's me in a nutshell, or a nut in meshell.

Did you potty train both of your boys at the same time?

the 2s are the cutest age but later twos are the hardest, you have both of em testing you, be sure and be consistent cause they will not regreat tag teaming you...It seems one is always more agressive then the other, mine are boys and they did a lot of playing together also a fair amount of fighting this is normal.... with 2 the same age ,when potty training, its always great when the least aggressive one starts first  that makes the other even more anxious to learn, so they end up learning faster...I hear your going back to work are your twins almost 3 if so try to get them in different classrooms if you can.....Once you get through the 2s and 3s your pretty good to go ....until mid school....

Gosh I finally got in!  Took me a while to find my password.  It will be nice when everyone gets over here.

I am 51, female, divorced.  Have an 11 year old daughter at home.  Also have a 25 year old son and two grandchildren.  The oldest is a boy, almost 21/2 yrs old, and the newest addition is a girl - 2 months old.  I live in Georgia about 50 mi north of Atlanta.

Just finished week 4/24. Geno 3.  My life is busy and I am going back to work full time on Monday.  Took 2 months medical leave then went back part time for 2 weeks.  But since I'm feeling OK so far might as well go back!
