Good News from Insurance Company (for a Change)

Hi all.

I almost feel guilty about posting this after reading fishdoc's post and hearing about his problems.

But I wanted to share the news that I was approved today for long term disability through my job sponsored company.  (Approved, of course, by dint of the $20-30 G I paid into the plan.  They're not giving ANYTHING away).

That takes such a huge financial load off my mind.  While the claims manager will review my case every three months, at least I know that in the meantime I can pay my bills and concentrate on my health.

I realize this is a relative luxury for FAR too many of us.  I'm grateful for the decision but I know I'm gonna have to do battle again in a few months.

The truth is, without this reprieve, I don't think I could continue on TX (despite the Survive song) as my sx are too harsh for me to 'teach' and treat at the same time.

Many many thanks to all for the insurance/financial questions and answers you provided to help point me in the right direction and demand the assistance I (and and everyone else) is entitled to.

Now that is some good news.  Wonderful that they are supporting your claim.  Now you can concentrate on getting through treatment without that "where is the money gonna come from?" stress!

Thanks Wonderful!!  YAY!  Way to Go! I know this is bound to be a huge relief to you.

Ya know, it's kind of strange saying "that's wonderful"  (because it's sure not wonderful to be sick and to have to be contemplating a future without a means to survive and coming to grips with "The Big D") but it's WONDERFUL you had the gumption to know what you HAD to do to ....SURVIVE!  :) Keep hanging in there and clear the next hurdle, too!

WHEW! What a relief! Another hurdle crossed. I think your job sounds way to hectic to do and tx @ the same time. I am so lucky that I lost my fast-paced 12 hour a day job and am working on easy street now! I'm so glad you  had the forsight to get disablity before you got sick!
