Has anyone experienced this sx?

by charm27, Jun 09, 2008 06:53AM
Have any of you ever had sun poisoning?? I have. Or an extreme sunburn?? Well for the longest time now I have the "sensation only" of my face, eyes, etc of being burnt to a crisp by the sun. I cant toletate it. It is a million degrees down here but Im not outside except to go in and out of my car?
I have had this for quit sometime but there is nothing on my face or eyes. Like I mentioned just a sensation of me being burned.
If anyone experienced anything like this please let me know.

I experiences this; it preceded the onset of shingles.  It did happen on treatment, but the doc didn't know if it was related or not.  It lasted a week before the pustules from the virus became visible.

In Danish they call shingles 'Hell's Fire', because of its burning sensation. It usually comes on one side of the body and one gets little blisters like chicken pox. My husband got it recently for the first time and he had this burning sensation. We didn't know what hit him. He was really ill for 2 weeks, almost fainted on stage at one of his concerts. It took about 6 weeks for him before he was back to normal. It's a nasty virus.

Oh shingles and HCV go hand in hand don't they?

Charming one have you gone to the doctors in regard to this?

by charm27, Jun 09, 2008 09:11AM
Thanks. Well the burning is the least of my problems now. I just got home from Pembroke  Pines any of you FLorida people know what a busy intersection Pines and Palm ave is. I have never been ticketed before....and wasnt ticketed today. However almost got killed and could have killed someone else car missed me by a hair.
I was in turn lane and didnt know it. I proceeded to go forward and all these cars were coming at me. Cops made me get out they thought I was drunk. They didnt give me ticket they asked me what the problem was. I told them chemo . He told me to get my *** home asap. I just took a chill pill and am in bed. I surrender to this tx. THings are just becoming very hairy and I cant drive in busy places anymore. I dont know what to do. I feel helpless now tx has peaked. Week 30.
I am totally alone and have no family. I almost got killed. My thought process is off, my reflexes are off, I get confused just at the thought of enter and exit sign. Im totally down, and traumatized. I cant believe this is me and I lost it completely.

Oh geesh,  that is awful!  I bet your still shaking,   I have done things like that, not that, but been driving and find myself unaware and heading towards a  ditch.  ScarY.

Breath and try and let it go,   you have way to much on your mind.

You do need to get to a Doctor, shingles are nothing to mess around with, I had them about ten` fifteen years ago. Not txt related,  they are very painful.

Please go see a doc

I'm really sorry to hear about what happened to you. I'm also sorry to hear that you are all alone. My prayers go out to you. I wish I was in your neighborhood, than I'll come and do some shopping for you. I think you will need to plan things ver carefully, not to get into a similar situation again. DO you have friends who can come and help you out with something. Or the neighbors kids?

Hugs, Marcia

Breathe, my friend.  In through the mouth and then exhale slowly thru your nose.  It helps.  Chill out in the air conditioning and get some rest.  Tomorrow will be better.

You're not alone, you have US!!!

Ok my friend, rest, here if you need me/us.   you know about a month ago, I am remembering not sure if I told you or not,  across my nose and cheeks, and forhead, it got really red, like i was burned almost, it went away but it freaked me out.

Also have you had your Blood pressure checked lately? That can cause flushing also!

You certainly have enough on your plate to cause a bout of High blood pressure.

Shingles feels like the end of your nerves are on fire, and they are, they do postulate too. itch.

Sending you hugs! Love you!

Thanks. Its been a rough tx as the dr. advised me before I started. said it could be brutal to some. Thank goodness it hasnt been brutal but one week real bad and one week
doable to a point.

The scene in the car really made me realize that tx has taken its toll probably because Im a little more than halfway thru and like I said prior " I am literally peaking" ive reached a new plateau. Hopefully this will pass too and it will.

When you come to realize you cannot do anything anymore it sort of blows your doors off literally! Im so thankful to still be alive after this morning. whewwwww.........

I know how some of those streets are in Fla, been to Daytona / New Smyrna years ago and I imagine it is much busier now.  That sounded like a very scary experience, I hate traffic, driving in traffic & thinking about driving in traffic......LOL.  Glad you are OK!

I did experience a severe redness on my face, it doesn't pain, just looks bad, it also gets to the eyes and make them also very red. I don;t know if that is very similiar to what you experience.

You should see a very good dermatologist doc, such problems happen during treatement and in many cases derm doc would fine the right medication for that (ask them if this is Rosacea).

Do you have any diagnosis from drematologist ?

no redness not a mark its just feels sunburnt on and off, I went to PCP he didnt have a clue. No redness at sall.

Thanks for your comments. I already went to dermatologist for dry ears, and cracked lips.

This heat sensation on my face just comes and goes. I know I have developed some psoriasis on the corners of my eyes now also.

I never had this before tx....I mean psoriasis.
We shall see. I just cant look at another doctor. lol

Can you notice any correlation netwwen the flare-up time and the time of injection ?
In my case the redness flare-up almost exactlly 36 hours after the injection.

I am so sorry that happened to you at the intersection..   Thank Goodness you did not get hit.

Regarding the hot feeling.  I did have on my left arm and on my left hip..  A few times during treatment I would roll over in bed or just turn wrong. and it felt like someone was branding me.   My doctor thought it was in my nerves, so they did a nerve conduction study, but nothing ever came of it.  I had the sensation quite a few more times, but not since being off treatment.  It never was a rash or anything,    Not in those spots. just the hot sensation of being branded.  the rash was on my lower back and almost looked like shingles as other suggested, but it was just the riba rash.
