Has anyone tried to take Muculix while on Treatment for Phlem ?

I seem to be having more and more phlem every day, and I am wondering if taking Muculix will help, or should I not take it ?   Sometimes it just sounds so nasty down there..

I ran out of my Allegra D a week ago and couldn't afford to go get it yet. Called my Doc and I did have some mucinex on hand and she said try it.  It did work really good.  Finally got the Allegra But was grateful for the mucinex... I have really bad phlegm from TX and have a  tough time getting rid of it.

AHA!  That explains it - I couldn't figure out how the bronchitis was gone and I was still having all this....phlem.  You guys are great!!!  I don't have any Muculix - but I do have some allergy stuff, gonna try it .  That will be one less annoyance in my life.  Thanks!!!!

dperry -- When I got really bronchitis on tx last year the doc told  me to get the Mucinex (D I think).  THere were to my knowledge, no adverse reactions with tx drugs. It is the ribavirin that irritates the throat.

chell - how are you this fine Friday?  Socked in up there?  Loved your jokes and the pics of those houses in wierd places!

I have taken it off an on.  No problems   Right after I started tx I got a sinus infection.  It gets worse when I shovel snow (I love shoveling snow and don't ask me why).  I think it is because of breathing the cold air for 45 minutes or more.  I have decided my husband will be the loan ranger shoveling the rest of the season.  I also have a muffler over my nose and mouth now that it has been cold.  It  has helped.  No I do not live in the 7 foot snow that NY has been having this week.

Happy b-day to you both!

pdilly- I like shoveling snow as well, kind of wierd huh?  I think its cause I feel like I can breath better in the cold and then I get hot so it clears my sinus, a double bonus ;-)

I too take Mucinex on and off since I've developed bronchitis and horseness.  It really only breaks up phlem in the lover bronchial tubes and lung congestion.  The active ingredient, guaifenesin, is also in most "chest decongestant" cough syrups, but a little lower dose.  Mucinex brand is expensive, but you can find store brand cough syrups with guaifenesin much cheaper. My doc basically said "if it helps you, use it". My puffs of albuterol do much more for me. G.
