Hep-C FREE!!!!!!!!!!

FINALLY!!!!!!!
I can let everyone know that after 72 weeks of TX-he11 (genotype 1A) and 6 months post-treatment my labs came back today and I am still UNDETECTED!!!!!!!

Guess I'll have to find the extender list and update my status!

Thanks everyone here who helped me get through it.  I am feeling so much better, blood levels all near normal, cottage renovated, financial mess cleaned up and I even started a part-time local reporter job.  (only down side is I regained the 10 pounds I took off plus another 5 or so.)

There IS life after TX and what's even better is seeing that beautiful <10 after the HCA quanatisure line!

YIPEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

Hang in there all you newbies and mid-term TX'ers.  There can be a happy ending.

Andiamo. Fl guy, charm27, Deb_c430, bobby, dmdrh,

Thank you everyone.  ::grinning from ear to ear::

I was terrified it was gonna be positive coz last week i got lab results saying I was positive for hep-c antibodies.  For a couple of days i thought that meant the virus was back but i hadn't gotten the HCV quantisure labs.  When I recieved them via mail ysterday all that jumped out at me was that gorgeous <10!!!!!!

i will be posting more often now and checking up on everyone else's progress.

Thans jimjim, mikesimon, trish and can-do-man.

Jimjim,
Venus is lucky I continue to care for her in the manner to which she's become accustomed.  Grrrrrrrrr........

Trish,
yes, i'm almost afraid to say it but everything is looking pretty good right now.

mikesimon.
I have thought about you and others often in the past few months but I somehow wanted to forget for a while all aboout the virus and try to move forward.  Once I got off the meds my energy returned and I've been tying up all sorts of loose ends including totally renovating the cottage, joining a couple of writer's groups, signing up for an HTML web-authoring class and working as a local PT reporter.  It feels so good to be able to DO STUFF AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! A special thanks for all the support you gave me during that long final haul.  :)

can-do-man,
It's made my YEAR!!!!!  I am soooooooo relieved.

Hey hey wyn...
So often reading your posts...it sometimes seemed that you were my spokesperson. How you were able to articulate what this tx was like for you...was helpful for me. Reading what you were dealing with (sx wise) and me going through very much of the same was giving voice to what I was unable to say.  Thank you.
It's wonderful you have reached SVR...very happy for you.... you give me hope. Each time we who are still in treatment read someones happy ending gives us hope...another battle won.
God Bless
Yvonne

S~W~E~E~T! Way to go, gal!

Lyrics by EH Harburg

"Ding-d0ng the witch is dead!
Which old witch? The wicked witch
Ding-d0ng the wicked witch is dead!
Wake up you sleepyhead
Rub your eyes, get out of bed
Wake up the wicked witch is dead
She's gone where the goblins go
Below - below - below
Yo-ho, let's open up and sing and ring the bells out
Ding D0ng the merry-oh, sing it high, sing it low
Let them know the Wicked Witch is dead!"

Hopefully, I’ll be joining you soon. Good work, and live large every chance you get!

Take care—

Bill

CONGRATULATIONS!

I hope to join the ranks of the 'healed' folks soon! I remember seeing you all through the last year and a half and am very grateful that you have fought the fight and finished the race and doing it smart with 72 weeks! I would have won (I believe) if I had gone the 72 the first time but got to do another 48 with the VX950 for half of it...

Good job and keep enjoying life! I keep thinking I will 'start' to get going again but can't seem to get off my couch (a**) and get going but hopfully the news I get shortly will encourage some activity and seeing posts like this certainly is motivating.

Take care!

I'm almost beginning to feel guilty at my good news after hearing of others who weren't as lucky.

Orphaned hawk,
I didn't know you had relapsed.  I was in such a fog the last 6 months I couldn't keep up with forum.  my very best to you and lots of luck in bangkok.

jools,
i have my fingers crossed for you.  From what I understand if you're still UND 3 months post TX odds are excellent it should hold for the 6 month.

Fullofhope,
I'm not gonna lie and say the last stretch is easy coz it's not but hang in there.  I wasn't UND until week 17 and if i had not followed up on research posted here by zazza and others my Dr. would not have even known I was a candidate for extending and I'd probably be back at square one today.

ladybug, meki,
Thanks for popping in.  I hope post tx life is great for both of you.

Teevee, GSD girl, jt57, fninestein,
BOL to you guys.  Don't let ANYONE tell you this sh1t is a walk-in-the-park!  Just keep clicking those ruby slippers and telling yourself i will be hep-c-free, i will be hep-c free.

ps - meki, apple cider's nice but can i EVER have a frozen margarita again?  just one a month????????
Blank

Full-of-hope,

OOPS!  Didn't realiz you had finished!  A big congrats!

If it's any cosolation it took a good 4 months for me to start feeling quasi-normal and even now I have bouts of weakness but they don't last long.  I no longer have to nap in the afternoon, i'm astounded at what i can get done in one day, my mood is excellent and i have begun to think outside the walls of this teeny cottage and venture back out into the world.  LOVING every second of it!

The only bad thing is i've regained all the weight I shed plus a few pounds.  I'm hoping that's just the body readjusting to being off meds.

TeeVee,
A big CONGRATS to you, too!!!!!!!  Waiting for the 3 month pcr is harder than the 6 month so I know how you must fee but try and stay positive.
