I wish summer was over with already!!

I wish summer was over with already!!

I know this is a weird post.  I guess I'm wishing my life away, huh?   My skin hurts, and I itch and I can't tolerate ANY sun and I really don't want to think about the stress of ANY hurricanes, etc, etc.  I know, there are worse things to worry about.  I just needed to unload before I went CRAZY!  I'm having to take Atarax and use Hydrocortizone cream per doctor's orders.  Sorry, the Gold Bond and Sarna have been tried, but w/o a help.  It's just something that I am going to have to put up with.  I know a lot of others here, have the same problem.

just wanted to drop a line before I hit the sack. I'm sorry to hear you're suffering with the itchiness. I hope the hydrocortisone will give some more relief. I'm itchin myself as I write. Not intolerable, though. I was wondering how you were doing in the trial...how are they treating you over there. I forget, are you down south? Hopefully all the hurricanes will go around you.
Take good care of yourself.

Believe it or not, the itching tapers off. I still have small patches popping up now and then but not like at first. The sun bothers me too. I just can't stay in it like I use to. Loud noises also. And as for the hurricanes, I'm on the part of NC that juts out but I've been through so many now I figure what happens, happens. Cat 3 or higher I leave. Almost like gambling isn't it? Hey, we only have 6 months left for the season. Take care.

Like you I am in the same trial and arm as you.Hang on to your hat! This skin issue does not get any better. Just keep applying the cortosone cream and see if they will allow you a script for pills. I use ice packs as well. Hang  in there. I'm in week 9 and will do anything to stay in this trial. Remember to stay out of the sun and wear long sleeves and pants.

I changed everything to stop the itching; all my soaps, shampoos etc. I use the mildest, most non-chemical items. I do find its worst after a warm/hot shower or if I'm in the sun.I bath and shampoo less frequently than I used to.
I put jojoba on my skin and dry hair. Then I use a simple coconut moisturizer. I don't know if you can take anything herbal in your trial but, I've had a lot of success by drinking a tea from www.alchemistlab.com called Dragon Heart. It does have milk thistle, redclover and other herbs in it. I shared it with another HCV friend and it has worked for her too.
Be glad its summer! You can take cool showers without freezing. Wear light colored loose fitting clothes. And get rid of those horrid labels inside your shirts or wear them inside out.  Good luck.

i know you are doing different tx, but just wanted to jump in. i am almost 2 mths post tx, i was in sun about 4 days ago for long walk, i have the worst sunburn i have ever had, so i guess, though i tried to be careful, the senistivity goes beyond tx, though i don't know for how long.

sorry you are having to go through this in the hot months of summer. i pray that your side effects subside, for no worries of severe storms or hurricanes, and that you can complete and will be successful with your tx.

god bless you

Sorry to hear about all the itching and problems. Hope you can get some relief soon from the doctors. I don't know how you can sleep with all that itching. It would drive me nuts. I started treatment in Sept. 22 and I end Sept.7 is my last shot. Best wishes in the clinical trial. I hope all goes well. We are all praying for you.

Sorry you are having to endure this right now,
I don't know anything about this particular TX you are on, & I never suffered with RASH or skin irritations (Per Say).. however I couldn't tolerate the heat at all, even the short lived mild Alaskan summer was more than I could bare!

I pray this round will be the Magic Bullet For You!
I was shocked when I saw somebody else on here that had also endured 7 rounds the other day... it just seems so unfair!
Hang in there!

At times my skin also hurts and itches.  My nurse suggested using Aveeno with natural colloidal oatmeal.  It is cool and soothing on my sore skin and relieves the itching temporarily.

Is it different than the riba rash?

If anybody would know...it's you!  ;)

Im sorry my friend how bad it feels - I know just with riba rash it was dreadful and supposedly the vertex rash is much worse.

I wish I knew a miracle cure for you :(

But I'll send all my good thoughts your way!

Okay, I am posting this again because I made this comment on another thread that had nothing to do with natural disasters.  I was getting mixed up reading all the threads.

"Our big natural disaster worry at present is the flooding of the Fraser River in British Columbia. We live a mile from the river in an area that is protected by an extensive dike system. The flood threat is expected to continue throughout the rest of this month."

During this past year I have had an operation, found out I have Hep C, started treatment and am experiencing this flood threat.  The experiences of the past year are teaching me that I must stop worrying about things I cannot control.  "I believe Lord, help my unbelief".

I can see where you are coming from because I remember on just regular tx,,,wishing summer would go fast.  And there is nothing worse then itching all the time!!   Is there anything at all that your dr could prescribe for you if over counter products aren't working?   Susan,,,I sure am praying that this is your very last time on anything and will reach SVR!!

Thanks everybody for your support and in listening.  Dr. said to try using Eucerin cream and to continue with the Hydrocortizone cream and Atarax.

NYG- I never had a rash with the Riba.    I'm not on Riba now, this is different.

That's all I can say with regard to any treatments.

Aside from treatments, how are the travels to the site?  Staying awake on the roads, I hope.  I'll be making a trip past your area and towards SJL's in another week and I'd like to know that there aren't many drivers like me on the road.

If you're one of those people who are trying to run me over or cut me off???, then I'd say that you're people in the majority of the drivers I deal with on I-95.  I hope that you aren't driving that way!!   But, I'm not your parent, so......I can't tell you how you are to drive.    Actually, I make sure that I have my car in good shape, AAA membership, wear my seatbelt and all of those type of things.  Well that's all I have to say.
