I'm Back!

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you all know I survived the move, and now that I'm back online, I'll be popping in again.

I just did shot 24, 48 more to go.

I hope everyone is doing as well as possible with TX and my thanks to all for having helped me get through the past six months.

Wyntre

Thanks for the info.  Is the tsh just added to the regular bloodwork?

I don't have thyroid storm but a friend thinks he just went through it and I'm trying to gather info for him.

From what he described, the event was terrifying.

my thyroid started around end of 7 months into tx, I was very tired all the time, hair and skin problems so I asked the dr. to run a tsh...no wonder I was tired all the time, slowly felt better on meds and had a few good days more than bad. then just 2 months ago started felling weird, couldn't sleep, no appetite losing weight and hair again. I have heard of a throid storm but don't really know to much about it. I know it is directly related to tx so just dealing with it nd hoping meds help  straighten it out. if your worried have them run  a tsh on your labs. wishes shelly

glad to hear all is going well with your move... Yes I am counting down now only 8 left! i am feeling a little better but my thyroid seems to be giving me the most trouble. I was hypo tsh 78 awhile ago, got on levothyroxin and slowly came back around to a normal reading. I was feeling great at that time then starting feeling crappy about a month ago and now I am hyper with tsh 0.01 so adjusting meds again, par for the course..still all my labs are normal except tsh...gonna finish this tx and hope to remain svr.....wish that for all of us....hang in there, its a crappy ride but hopefully a ride well worth it! shelly

I have two shots left (whoo hoo) and hubby has 28. It will be a good thing to have at least one of us off the meds anyway ;-)

Shelly,

when did you start developing thyroid problems?  And how did you know?  Did the Dr. order blood tests based on your sx?

I hope that the thyroid issue disappears once you're off TX.  i've read that happens to a lot of people.

Cindy,

Only 2 more!  Way to go.  Now you can cheer your hubby on.

Tell your daughter congratulations!! I was at first scared about teaching math, even to fifth graders. I hadn't taught math since I was a LA/Soc Stu teacher for 9 years. (Before that Pre K, 2nd and 3rd grade) We became self contained so I started teaching math 2 years ago....and love it!! Helped me get over my fear of math!
I know your daughter will love it too. It takes a knack to teach middle school kids, but once they know you're not putting up with their little games and that you care about them.....your daughter will have them eating out of her hand!!
I always have them come back and visit years later. At the end of school I had a junior in college come back to tell me he's entering med school. I was so proud of him!

I know she's excited, and tell her congrats again!! I'll keep you posted about my hubby's progress. I'm both excited and scared!!!!!!

So good to see your post. Can't wait to share the good news when he gets his 4 week pcr. The summer is the best reason to go into teaching! My daughter just graduated as a middle school math teacher, starts her first job in Aug.

It's been exactly one month since the last riba, and 5 weeks since the last shot.
He's feeling better on a daily basis! Slow, but steady.
His increase in energy level was the first thing we noticed. He has pent up energy and is wanting to get out and do all the things he couldn't do while treating.
His brain fog is lifting and he's finding it easier to keep up with record keeping, bookwork, all the things he likes LEAST about his business.
But the difference is he can do these things faster now and doesn't have to focus so hard.
Again, it's slow, but getting better all the time. His rash is also clearing up...he had red bumps on his face and top of his head which were driving him crazy. Not gone yet, but better!

I'm out for the summer!!!!!!!!! It's great getting to sleep in..I've been lazy and just hanging out at the house taking things slow. Finding time to do some of the things I put off during the school year, organizing, filing papers, etc. etc.!

Our youngest son is home from college, and it's been great having him home. He's working like crazy...for his dad during the day and at a restaurant at night! Our oldest son is married, so we don't see him nearly as much as we want to! We're going to go up to Oklahoma City and camp out at there house for at least a week sometime this summer!

We're waiting the results of Greyson's 4 week test. I'll let you know when we get the results back!!

happy you are back, glad you survived the move, and it seems that tx is moving along (didn't know you had so many weeks ahead of you).

sorry about the home deal falling through, hope that resolves soon, its not like you really need another thing to deal with. sounds like you are enjoying your your new place and your feathered friends.  i had visiting house finches in spring, they used to sit on the fence and had beautiful song, i don't know why they didn't stick around.

hope you are well.

Wynte - good to see you and to know you are OK!  This is my first time through in a while, too, and so I have no clue how anyone has been doing.  It's great to see you - it's good to see everyone congregated in one post and doing good,  and OH - almost through with treatment!   Way to go!

No time - you guys take great care!

Thanks for the welcome back!

Bill,
the moving was (almost) worse than TX SX!  But it's over now.

Hawke,
Only 6 weeks left AND a humming bird touched your shirt!  Great omen!
Do the male and female Roen look the same or are they different, like with Mallards?

Rosebud,

the house is gonna get straightened out.  I just know it.  Congrats on finishing your Masters!

Chcnme,

Great to hear from you.  What are you up to these days?  Hope it's all good.

Ladybug,

All I can say is, i never would have made it without prozac!  it's a good thing I started about a month before the move!

The old dog has rallied some.  She likes it here.  She's still blind and deaf but she's been rolling in the grass and eating it, too.  She seems rejuvenated.

Birds are doing great.  I adopted out the lutino cockatiel.
Peekaboo and Lou;  Love at first flight.  :)
The house sale is ongoing again . . .buyer is getting new financing.  keep your fingers crossed for me.

Allergies are MUCH BETTER, as are all the SX!  How about you?  Are your post TX SX gone/

Grandma,

Hey lady!  Retired and cooking again and only a couple more months to go!  Plus the whales got back to the ocean.  :)

Wyntre

I don't get on much anymore;   I was wondering about you a couple of days back.  Glad everything so far (except the house sale) has gone smooth.  I bet the birds like it.  Keep us posted on whats happening.

WOW, Shelly!  Only 2 more months!  That's fantastic.  ya gotta promise to stick around and cheer on the junior members of the 72-week club!

I can tell you're doing much better.

cruelworld

I got energy back and then lost it again after the marathon 2-step project on May 24-26.  Phase one; me and 3 mad Russians; phase 2, me, the flock, the dog, my tenant and his girlfriend.  Then i collapsed for a couple of days.  Sunday through Tuesday are the hardest days; aches, fatigue, pain, flu-like symptoms.  but mentally and psychologically i'm in a much better place.  i gotta credit the prozac for that.

" but shot 25 last night pounded me with intense shivering, it felt like my whole house was shaking. thats never happened to me."

Hmmmmmm.  that's how i feel today.  hope it's just a one-time thing coz it isn't very pleasant.

"this stuff is hitting me harder now than it did in the beginning. they told me it was supposed to get easier, i want my money back!"

I guess ya just never know how you're gonna respond.  Some people do seem to get worse, though.  For others, it changes from week to week, month to month.  Shelly posted above, and she's only got 2 more months and i can just tell she's doing better.

I know in my case, just removing some of the financial pressure is helping me relax more, plus the area is gorgeous.  Hang in there and take it one day at a time.  Did you finally decide to do 48 or go for 72 or are you still in the process of figuring out what's next?

Hey girl!!
Glad to see ya back! Sounds like you're doing great, and the house is being relooked at (financing, that is!)
Hope everything goes through this time, but if not, you're ready for the next person; already moved and everything!
I envy you living where you are...we've already had scorching days and barely into June!!
Glad you're feeling good...keep rocking!!

Now I can take my protein drink every day. I used to only take it on the weekends and my days off. It's very good when you are on tx.

I'm so glad your move went well and you are all settled in. All those birds sound nice. I guess that is not a bird dog.

I love retirement. I can't believe how well I'm sleeping now. I had so much stress in my job, especially on Mondays.

Yes, the move went as smoothly as a move can go.  The house thing is gonna work out.  The buyer's getting new financing.

How's Greyson since finishing TX?  Has he noticed a difference in how he's feeling?  Have you?

Bet you're looking forward to the end of the school year, too.  How many more weeks to summer vacation?

Grandma,

How come you couldn't take the protein drink every day before retirement?
And can you share the recipe?  I've started trying to get more protein, too, as i'm a vegetarian.  I'm doing the soy protein (13G) with a 13G cereal.

"I love retirement."

Enjoy every minute of it!

"I can't believe how well I'm sleeping now. I had so much stress in my job, especially on Mondays."

I know what you mean about stress.  I had been on ambien for several years before moving here.  now, i haven't taken one in over a week and I'm sleeping great.

congrats on the move. as you can see weve been holding the fort down until you got back. did you ever get you energy back from when you over exerted yourself moving?
i havent been hurting too bad, but shot 25 last night pounded me with intense shivering, it felt like my whole house was shaking. thats never happened to me. the last two months of interferon seemed weak compared to this new batch i just started. i guess its just
the same old up and down. this stuff is hitting me harder now than it did in the beginning. they told me it was supposed to get easier, i want my money back!
have a great day!

Yes, the ducks look a lot like Mallards. They are a bit larger and whereas the Mallards have  green feathers on the wings, the Roen's are blue. They surprise me how different thier personalities are. I don't know if its gender related or not but she is quicker to figure things out. He's big and kinda dumb but loves eating bugs. She quack-laughs and he whistles.
Tx is tx., up down and all around. The lesser dosage of interferon has given me more energy. I'm only doing one nuep.weekly now although my ANC are still low. I just stay away from crowds. Hopefully I'll be done in 6 weeks.
Did I tell you about the hummingbird touching my shirt? I really loved that. The best thing about wearing red!
Bug, I wrote to you and then couldn't remember what post it was on. I think about you and figure you are being your busy bee self.
      Giant hugs,                OH
