In and out of hospital

In and out of hospital

Hi everyone;
Not a question, just info on how its going now.  I just spent 48 hours in the hospital and I am feeling much better.  I'm still not ready or willing to run any foot races, but I am stronger.

I went to see my Dr Wed after work and told him he had to do something about my low counts, etc.  that I could NOT go on the way it was getting steadily worse.  He admitted me to hospital, started me on 2 units "packed red blood cells" and shots of something for my white count.

I have veins that roll and hide plus they aren't very pronounced anyway, so i suffered over getting IV's in and then they had to come back and insert larger IV needle for packed cells.  Then I had so many blood samples taken than I've got so many holes I should be leaking like a sieve! lol

It was pretty miserable, but I guess I have to say that it was worth the misery to feel this much better.

Now for the GOOD NEWS.....my viral load test result came back and I went from a 5 down to a 2 after the 4th week!  Yea!   I took my 5th shot of interferon the day after the test was done, so I'm really excited that it down spiked so well after the first month.

My Dr said I should most likely expect to have to repeat this last hospital process before i get through treatment.

I'm really encouraged and can only hope my progress will continue to progress favorable.  I wish the best for each and everyone of you, I am so grateful for you and your support.
Hugs to you all, anniejo

Sorry you had to go through all that and the veins practically collapasing on you also. Wow! You really are strong. Sounds like you have a WONDERFUL doctor. Without him you would probably have to quit tx. You sound very positive and upbeat. Glad you are feeliing better now.
Take good care.

How terrible that you had to go into the hospital but it's great that you feel better!

i've heard transfusions can really give you a boost.  I'm trying to finangle a way to get one myself .  (only half - kidding!  I guess that's why the tour-de France cyclist was doing them . . .)

Sorry, but at 32 week s and counting I think I may have crossed over to the dark side.  :(

If it's any consolation - (which it isn't... LOL!) I had to overnight a couple of times due to sides. But you get through it and  you keep plunging on. It's a dream job..... But someone's gotta do it. LOL!

Hey - keep the happy attitude - and stay on the light side.

Hugs,

Meki
