From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Null
His PhD thesis was titled, "A Study of Psychological and Physiological Effects of Caffeine on Human Health." This school is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools but its accreditation does not cover awarding of PhDs in the sciences, only in the humanities
And:
Many of Null's viewpoints are controversial and he has attracted the attention of Dr. Stephen Barrett who writes critically on his website Quackwatch about those he considers to be engaged in quackery or pseudoscience. Barrett analyses and disparages Null's PhD thesis, his alternative health claims, and several of his commercial products.[21]
The James Randi Educational Foundation, an organisation that aims to promote critical thinking, has accused him, together with Wayne Dyer, of "dealing in nonsense", promoting the notion of eternal youth, and prescribing magnets and "other medieval tools" to prevent aging.[22]
The Null Hypothesis: Comments on Gary Null's "Death by Medicine" by James R. Laidler, MD [23] Dr. Laidler criticises Nulls work for double counting statistics and for presenting a simplistic and skewed view of medicine.
Death by Medicine: Does American medicine "cause more harm than good"? by Harriet Hall, MD. [24] Doctor-bashing is a hobby of many alternative medicine proponents. They point out everything that is wrong with conventional medicine, but they don't put their criticisms into perspective. They don't mention how much good medicine does and how many lives it saves

He didnt fare nearly as well with Dr Steven Barrett, MD of Quackwatch:

Null is prone to see conspiracies behind many of the things he is concerned about. One of his targets has been the pharmaceutical industry, which, he says, "cannot afford to have an alternative therapy accepted." He promotes hundreds of ideas that are inaccurate, unscientific, and/or unproven. He calls fluoridation "deadly" and has spoken out against immunization, food irradiation, amalgam fillings, and many forms of proven medical treatment. His series on "The Politics of Cancer," which was published in Penthouse magazine in 1979 and 1980, promoted unproven methods that he said were being "suppressed" by the medical establishment. His lengthy series, "Medical Genocide," began appearing in Penthouse in 1985 with an article calling our medical care system a "prescription for disaster" and claiming that modern medicine has had virtually no effect on heart disease, cancer, and arthritis [1]. Other articles in the series promoted chiropractic and homeopathy, claimed that effective nutritional methods for treating AIDS were being suppressed, claimed that chelation therapy was safe and effective for treating heart disease, and endorsed several treatments for cancer that the American Cancer Society recommends against. His Web site contains a huge amount of misinformation and bad advice
No thanks, I think Ill take my chances with the FDA
Bill
Good find, illo. I appreciate your efforts here.

The plot thickens, by the way: it seems that Dr Peter Rost participated in this interview several months prior to being fired by Pfizer. See:
The American Council on Science and Health nominated former Pfizer Vice President Peter Rost, M.D., to Whiny Whistleblower of the Year,
http://www.speroforum.com/site/article.asp?idCategory=32&idsub=130&id=2398
Rost participated in this interview June 10, 2005, and was terminated by Pfizer on December 1, 2005. My point being of course that Rost was already in poor graces with his employer, and was determined to leave a splash on his way out the door. What we have here are clearly two foxes guarding the henhouse=a couple of cranks with very transparent personal agendas.
Personally, if I were trying to make my point by quoting articles or interviews, I would investigate the credentials and integrity of the party(s) involved, but I suppose thats just me. Id hate to end up having their credibility rebuked and make me look like a fool :o).
Nuff said?
Respectfully,
Bill
Hiya Mike; Ya know, I usually have enough sense to flat avoid subjects like this. I felt sorry the minute I posted the send button. I didnt intend my rebuttal as a personal attack on the original poster, and truly wish her all the best. I couldnt help but notice the source quoted played like a Kevin Trouduea (sp?) late-night infomercial, however. The interviewer and subject were mmm too well synchronized.
Im all for investigating alternative/complimentary products, as long as scientific method is applied. Unfortunately, for one reason or another, empirical methodology is rarely employed in herbal analysis; as you know to well, the end result being info that is only marginally better than anecdotal in nature.
I hope Illo reads this, realizes that Im not attacking her personally, and if so, accepts my apology. I wish good air for all of us here.
Take good care, all
Bill
I have a quick question... Hope you see this..
Awhile back you where exercising alot, lost a bunch of weight & becoming physically fit.... so my question is... now that your are neck deep in the middle of TX... how's that going??? Are you still excercising.... or trying to maintain???
If so, How is that affecting you... do you have anemia... getting winded... or has maintaining an exercise program actually helping the TX..??
Just Curious!
Vic
Wow, you have a good memory. Im trying to figure out how to answer your question Yeah, I started a regime to modify diet and exercise after my relapse last time. I lost about 55 lbs, and have gotten really good blood sugar control as a result.
I havent been running/walking nearly as often as I did for the last couple of months or so, though. Its hard to explain Im physically capable of exercise, but I cant seem to muster up the ambition to go out and *do* it, if that makes any sense (it probably does, you treated multiple times yourself). No problem with anemia; my hemoglobin has been riding in the mid-12s throughout most of treatment, so I dont really have that to blame. Its more that I seem to have a motivational mini-crisis on my hands, Lol!
Overall, I think this little program Ive been on has really helped my outlook on treatment, however. This **** takes so much time out of our lives, its really important to keep on living as best we can. I just now figured out I do shot 93 Friday (not all at once, but with a 5 month break after #56). Thats just too much time to lay on the couch. And, I have no guarantee that I wont have to treat again; so what the hay, make the most of it, huh?
Thanks for asking, Vicki- as always, stay in touch and let me know if/when you get the 12-month labs done, OK? Im sure that its just a formality, but keep me posted so I can pop the top on a cup of tea with you! Let me know if you ever get bored, BTW. Ill send you a few Riba, and we can go to the airports together with a video cam. Lol, film you wrestling the TSA in the ladies room again!
Take real good care,
Bill
You still sound like you're doing good...
Oh BTW... That was the MEN's Bathroom...LoL
I'll be looking for your progress reports!
Best Of Luck & You Take Care Too!
:)
