Lab Testing

Lab Testing

Im going on week 17. So far since the beginning of tx Ice had CBC's every two weeks and CMB, TSH every month. Now its been changed to CBC's every month as well. I didnt get yesterdays CBC results yet but as of 2 weeks ago my HGB was 12.2.

Is everyone on this kind of schedule who has not done rescue drugs so far?
Just wondering. Isnt 30 days a long time to do a CBC now or am I just over reacting cause Im use to the old schedule andd feel more secure knowing Ive been monitored more often.

Yepers, I'm on a schedule that's pretty close to that.  I do CBC's every month right now.  That may change back to weekly again though if my white count keeps misbehaving.  But as long as my counts are "stable" doc cuts my CBC's back to once a month.  My TSH gets checked every 3 months (I'm already on synthroid for my thyroid) and my AFP gets done every 6 months.

P.S.  you're Hgb is doing GREAT!  I'm 14 weeks in and I'm down to 10 already.

I am on rescue drugs,  they changed my cbcs to every two weeks, from  once a week.

Sounds good to me!  They must feel your pretty stable!

After week 20 labs were on a monthly basis. prior to this, labs were every 2 weeks.  Post tx labs  every 6mths since completing.  Hep just told me after my next labs if still svr (18mths now) it will be once a year for the rest of my life.  That was the longest 6mths of my life after completing tx.

I had my labs done after the first 2 weeks then every 4 weeks after that since beginning treatment. My hgb dropped from 17 before tx to 11.8 and stayed there thruout tx. Felt a little light headed at times and huffing a puffing but that was it.
Just ask for a CBC right away if you detect a big drop in energy. Sometimes you have to insist on things.

Hi Charm :)
Your hgb is holding up good, mine also dropped to 10 ny week 5-6! (10 sucks, huh, Missy?) No rescuse drugs allowed either.

My labs were every 2 wks. the first @3mths., than monthly. That's pretty normal with out major problems going on. If you start feeling really bad (like worse than the ALREADY really bad:), always call/check it out, in case something dropped!

How are you doing thus far?

Thanks all of you for the feedback. Just wanted your opinion as to the timing of it all.
Im thoroughly exhausted and somewhat out of breath since week 4. No major problems otherwise, had the throat issue that cleared up, the itching is horrible but Im dealing with it, and this might sound starange maybe cause it is , I can yawn for almost an hour until my jaw hurts..I have had a major case of serious yawns since tx, and I sneeze for one hour after taking the Riba 2X aday. Weird or what? Legs feel llike Im in quicksand!
But glad Im almost 17 down!! yipee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to be different! lol
Very strange and difficult tx.

Hubby bottomed at week 4 to 9.8 and is now at 10.3.  N/P said he'll be taking a shot of aronesp next week if it goes any lower.  He was doing labs every week after that but will start every other week for a while.  They are keeping a close eye on him.  He had a wicked sore throat last weekend. I thought he had strep or something the way it hurt but the next day it was gone. Very strange.
