Lady Lauri/Hair on Tx

Lady Lauri/Hair on Tx

Hi, hope you are doing ok w/tx. My hair slowly started shedding around 4 months(if I remember correctly-by then I had also lost a lot of brain cells) then it really started falling out. I would cry in the shower. And I know this is going to sound crazy but it hurt to even touch my hair. My head was so sensitive. I know NYgirl bought some wigs and she was very happy with them. I can't even stand to wear hats so for me it wasn't an option. I bought hair pieces. They made me feel so good. I bought them at a stand in the mall. A little expensive but worth it. Good Luck!!!! I've gotten really used to wearing these wigs thank God - at first they bugged me but now I don't even notice.

I decided I was going to put some streaks in my hair on Saturday night - well I ended up looking like Carrot Top.  SO glad I have these wigs!  I ran to CVS and bought my original color and put it back in.

So now...I'll have to go to a salon and have them do it right.  I didn't want to but it's time.  Unfortunately my hair looks so gorgeous with these wigs...I'm not looking forward to taking them off my hair grew back so STRAIGHT and thin (what I always wished for since I had huge and curly!) but now all I want is my big curley hair back!

(PS I think my hair falling out was compounded by my thyroid problems...........so hopefully most people won't get it as bad)

I'm sorry that your hair didn't work out for you when you tried to do it at home!  That it so frustrating.  I went to get mine cut yesterday and I went to a cheaper place to do it and I don't like the way she did it.  Sigh....., can I have some wigs???     just kidding

Well hair is so hard to loose for women! I cry also,

Mine is still sort of ok, But know from past it will get thinner.

I just read you should not color your hair while on Tx? Is this so?

geesh does this mean I will be bald and grey?

My hair has always been fine and straight, but i had enough of it.

Thinking about going wig shopping also,  any good ideas?

Mine did grow back after tx last time,  seemed much greyer tho, I have dark hair so i went grey young anyway.!

Best of luck

deb_c...........geesh does this mean I will be bald and grey? ................

I'm pondering here....is that possible??  LMAO!!
..................................................................................................

Susan, as seen I have (lessening) a lot of hair! So right before starting tx, hoping not to loose it...a customer wants to 'take care of my hair' during tx for 'free'. DIDN'T want a 'trim' yet :{ ...kinda guilted into it. To make it short.... I lost half my hair BEFORE tx could take it! And that is just wrong!
.....................................................................................................

Merlino, whining while humble thru my 'short' tx (18th shot now). Better question, how are YOU after a very rough 2007?
Shedding pretty good in my 18th week. Wondering if it'll speed up the next 6, stop coming out soon after stopping, etc. And I didn't think I would...but yep, I shed a few quick tears 1st wad on the pillow :{ Than bucked up and said 'that's the least of your worries woman!"  Still tho, how many look in that brush every time we brush our hair? :{ If I go bald, I'm getting a hep C ribbon tattoed on my head :}   & I don't have one tattoo! A biker chick with not one tattoo! I'd chicken out! Worry about getting Hep again!
..........................................................................................................
Nygirl...sorry you haven't gotten it all back as it was :{  Could it later, even with the thyroid problem? You can be anybody in the wigs tho :} Okay, which one really has more fun...blondes, brunnettes, redheads? I say brunnettes :}
..........................................................................................................

ladywhy.... reading you post and LMAO! I thought (at 1st) you were trying to order a 'male Jenna' ...(which you would HAVE to name Jim, lol).... for a joke or something, and that they said you had to get a 'Jenna' instead. Really I did,too funny!
............................................................................................................

ALL..... I bought that Nioxin, but all they had was for fine hair. I don't have fine hair and my hair feels more brittle using it??? I also get mixed opinions on it, helps, doesn't help and so on. I think the leave on conditioners bio silk therapy or a new one 'CHI silk fusion' is great so far, keeping it not so dry. Ever try those?

Bald is beautiful, but really .....prefer hair!

Well ok, here is what will happen, hair thins all except the grey skunk strip down the middle!   then here is where the balding comes in, the patch right next to the grey stripe will be so thin you can see the scalp!

talk about a flag looking head!

I colored hair last time with peg. so this is freaking me out!

I spent all day yesterday on line looking for wigs.  Geesh!

Weren't you thinking of cutting and donating it to Locks of love ?

You should consider doing that before it gets so thin, its not enough to make a wig out of.   By the time I cut the length on mine.   it was a skinny skinny pony tail about the size of a shapie pen in width of the tail..  When before was so thick, curly and long.
Now well..   boy cut , but its definately coming back in thicker. and Its starting to curl and wing out in the back, so I know my curls are still there. just need the length back.. LOL

I too read recently on this site that one should not color their hair while on tx.  I have had it colored once right before the holidays (now about 11 shots into 24) but have not noticed any change so far other than it is dryer, but that was good for me for it tends to be oily and needed washing every day.

I figured if it was going to fall out at the roots, the color did not matter anymore!

So....whats the scoop on this?  I too know vanity is the least of our worries, but want to do what is best.  I have very fine, pretty straight naturally blonde hair (which I keep a shade or two blonder while also covering the newly emerging gray).  It is shoulder length.

Is this the time for me to go el naturale?

Thanks Ladies!

Pam

Thats exactly how thick my ponytail is.I feel like I have a big head with a little bit of hair. Mine is so slow in growing back. I would advise everyone starting tx to go extra heavy on the conditioner and cut back on blow drying,

mom says no color did not listen tryed highlights color turned orange oops

Avatar_f_tn
oh geesh orange hair? NOOOO lol!
See this darn virus, it does add insult to injury!
Nurse told me also that the color can kill the folicles when yoru txing, so when you stop, part of the hair will not grow back!
So I am going wigs!

It is strange how this stuff affects everyone different. My hair is about 10” long and it hasn’t shown any signs of drying or thinning out and the color is coming back. My beard is still white and is showing no signs of change. I think I am entering into week 10 of tx. I hope I am not being premature and it all falls to hell down the road

Ok, we waited to see what would happen to Walrus' hair. He has a full head of beautiful gray hair and a beard to match (well, he wears a goatee but I wish he'd grow the beard back). We knew that either hair loss or unusual hair growth were both sx'es so we waited. OK, the dude has EYELASHES like a freakin' model. His eyelids were itching at first so bad and we discovered this incredible eyelash growth. That has settled down (I mean, was I going to have to take him in for eyelash trims???) Then his back hair and the hair on the backs of his arms starts growing. He's turning into an ape. I wish I could send some of this weirdness to some of your ladies who are losing your hair. The bizarre hair growth is always accompanied by incredible itching. Outr son has back hair like a werewolf, maybe it's just the genetics finally kicking in, anyway, as awful as this TX is, it's NEVER boring.

Oh too funny and I so relate! As my head hair was shedding everywhere, I look in the mirror (after a few in bed, barely shower or brush teeth, don't even care how ya' look days) and see amazing eyelash's, than notice my arms had LONG hair! Did trim them!! All this time, brushing out half my hair I am thinking "okay, WHY am I still having to shave my legs??"
Not that I did that much on tx!
And as I have mentioned.....I now fill out my shirts better :)  :)  :) Really hoping that side stays, but a wierd side.  (Hope Walrus doesn't get that one!!LOL!)

Okay, I promised I'd never call you a woos if you couldn't take tx, but if you get a Raquel wig.........
But than again, if you get the wierd side I got (above), maybe the wig could work :)
