If you can find milked or miked 's post you will see that he did have to appeal the denied.  He had to prove SVR for two years , which was easy enough for him...He sounded very happy to get larger policy for cheaper price.... Good luck

A while ago an insurance agent told me I would be able to get life insurance after being SVR for 2 years

Hopefully it is Maintaining SVR Status for 2 years after completing tx. It’s been over 2 years for me.
Now I have an incentive to go back for my PCR. I never went back after my 6th Month.

Not wanting to be a grinch at christmas, a long time friend thats been in the insurance business told me just having the hcv antibodies was a red flag.... Though i was able to get a fair deal through my credit union, no questions asked.

Thanks, I'll find it or PM him. I don't know how the "Best Answer" thing jumped up there. Oh well, you had a Great Answer so Merry Christmas.

Can-do-man, was this Credit Union through work or just a standard Credit Union. Because I am a member of a Credit Union but it is not through work.

I'm guessing it would be 2 years of SVR after being diagnosed as SVR, which is 6 months after completing tx.  Just guessing.

Let us know the result after you try.

R why dont ya PM him so he see's it in his email account just in case he doesn't come in here.  He's the only one I can remember who tried and succeeded - the rest of us are chicken hearts (well I'm a broke person or I'd try it to after almost 4 years) I only have it through my job and it aint much.

I'm planning on it. The first thing I have to do is go in and get a PCR done. Like I said earlier. "Now I have an incentive to go back for my PCR. I never went back after my 6th Month". I was G2, RVR, 6 Month SVR so chances are slim to none for a relapse. I know my body can't take another round of tx so, I never went back. This will force me to "Man Up".

You dont have hepc anymore so you have nothing to worry about.  If it makes you feel any better even now almost 4 years later I still sweat a bit when I have to get a PCR (my PCP just runs them with my bloodwork standard every once in a while I dont know why, maybe he doesn't understand we are cured!)

You are fine and your reaction is totally normal.  Especially to us hepc obsessives anyway ;)

Daughter never phones/emails me so I'm more worried about Longterm Assisted Care than a life insurance policy. Pretty sure it is a no right off the bat.

My policy is one they'll give to those who don't get a medical, a policy converted from an employer when leaving employment there, only kind I could get. Hoping to bring my premiums down, I applied for a change in my life insurance after hitting SVR at six months and it was subsequently turned down.

Thanks to you starting the discussion, maybe I can qualify for something down the road a bit for SVR and I'll look into it.  I'll be as interested as anyone else how it goes for you.

If it's any consolation to you, I've been putting off a PCR also for the very same reason.  If for some strange reason, it comes back positive, I wanted to be ready to bring that back into my life again and just haven't been.  Odd how that works, isn't it?

Yeah...it stinks to have to go back and get another PCR once we pass that original "cured"milestone.

My life insurance was before HCV testing days, but we just sold our business and I have to decide whether to stay with my own individual health insurance or try to go with the company's group plan.....yikes.

It ***** that this follows us around for so long.

R G.....my heart goes out to you as you anticipate getting another PCR, but as NY says...you're cured!!!!  We're cured!!! It just ***** having to go thru the waiting game again.

WIshing you the best,

Isobella
