Gregg Allman

Dusty Hill, bass player for ZZ TOP got it from a transfusion after he accidentally shot himself with his own gun :)

both treated, I believe Dusty cleared, not sure about Allman, both are back touring again

Anthony Kiedis from the Red Hot Chili Peppers - he does some crazy injection of ozone to treat it (or so he said in an article)....

Steven Tyler of Aerosmith also had it and treated, and cleared - the traditional way.

I apologize.  I was under the impression that you were against standard treatment and made a new account under a different name to discourage people.  There have been people who have done that.  I read some of your other posts and that doesn't seem to be the case

I'm assuming that you think that arpen is "my other self". If you misconscrued my post as a defence on his/her behalf then you must be smoking some good stuff. Well truth be told if I were a knot head like that I wouldn't bother with treatment. What purpose could my "cure" posibly serve humanity?

"People relapse all of the time and treatment hasn't been around long enough to determine how many, if any will have a SVR in 30 years time."

Blood letting is called a phlebotomy.  Your other self claims it was a transfusion

My point is that even recognized treatments are not cures let alone some blood letting that may or may not have been done in Mr. Richard's case.

What's your point?

My hepatologist is very careful to say that treatment is just that...treatment. There is no recognized cure as yet although treatment may well be a cure. People relapse all of the time and treatment hasn't been around long enough to determine how many, if any will have a SVR in 30 years time.

From a couple of the comments you've made so far, here and on other posts, you need to educate yourself about hepc, treatment and long term effects because your understanding of the disease in unrealistic.
It doesn't matter how many blood transfusions you have.  I doesn't matter if you empty you entire blood supply and replace it with non infected blood, you will NEVER be clear or cured.  The virus lives in the liver and other places in the body.  The ony cure for chronic hepc is treatment.

I would be silent if I was a star - these people must enjoy endless groupies - the last thing they would want is to scare them away.

don't think Clapton injected, i saw a thing with him, he did snort
===============================

You can catch HCV through snorting.  Snorters are prone to broken blood vessels in the nose that bleed.  As the plate is passed from person to person , normally the straw is also.  Been there, done that.

I totally agree.

My way of trying to reach people especially my kids' friends - I have them come over and see how sick I am from the treatment and I ask them if they want to go thru this.

i can blame them...

lol

i think its BULLSH*T they dont speak up more especially musicians, what/who are they afraid of ???? most of them back in the day were very open about their drug use they should be just as open about the consequences also ...

if they opened their mouths instead of hiding behind their cool rock star image it might stop some young people from continuing to emulate them by using drugs...

keith richards should be on this list also... but, i think he is one of the lucky ones, cleared on his own i think he prob just has the antibodies... both his ex's have it anita pallenburg and marianne faithful...

im wondering about these people, all musicians, all used to shoot up:

Eric Clapton
Bobby Keys
Charlie Watts
Ozzie Osborne
and
every member of guns & roses and motley crue and anyone still alive from the punk explosion of the late '70's...
