Missed a dose of procrit

by jdwithhcv, Jun 04, 2008 04:49PM
Bad brain fog this week.  Somehow I missed taking Monday's procrit shot.  I will take the shot today but what about next week  -  do I go back to a Monday injection or move it to Wednesday from now on?  Has anyone else missed a dose of procrit and if so how did you handle it?

Well now you have made me feel very normal for all the ridiculous things I have done during tx.

Im sorry you missed your shot but Im sure taking it today would be ok.
Ive put RIba in fridge, left water running, hit someone in McDonalds yesterday,
driving over the curbs, I never hit anyone ever! My perception is completely off since week 17. Oh! and buying gas and taking off without filling up!
I was never a ditzo before but I sure am now.!

You'll be fine JD!! Im glad you remembered!!! whew........

I just received my procrit today so I'm new at this.  I was reading the info sheet under Missed Dose it reads: if you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.  Hope this helps!

How long have you been on procrit?  I finally rec my meds but they didn't give me any syringes...I guess the jokes on me.  Lol  I'll probably take my first shot this Sat. providing they give me the needles.  I would appreciate any info you could pass along to me?

Take care...Darla

Thanks for your response.  I took the missed shot yesterday and will take the next one as scheduled on Monday (brain fog permitting)

I have been taking procrit since mid-October.  My hgb dropped from 11.5 to about 7.7. and I was admitted to hospital for a few days after an episode of hypoxia.  Procrit has "rescued" my treatment in the truest sense of the word.  It takes a few weeks to work but I have finally managed to get my hgb to 10 and keep it there.

Hang in there, Procrit helps.

Darla's info is exactly on the money.  I have been giving my husband Procritt for almost a year now (for another disease) and we all forget, and I have no excuse I have been of tx for 18 months now. LOL

Darla:  I am still LMAO about the needles.  Yours is just the opposite of my situation with needles. I can not get them to stop sending them to me.  I get a pre-filled nuelasta for my husband and I get 30 needles and 30 syringes. OKAAAAY this is a pre filled dose. LOL
And on your case you cannot get them to send any. LOL What we put up with regarding our insurance and prescription coverages.  Lord what a joke sometimes.  Good Luck on getting your syringes and needles. Let me know if you need; I probably have enough to supply all of LA County. LOL

jd,  OMG HGB of 7.7...that is so low!  I'm glad you've been able to keep it at 10 with the procrit!  I can live with 10....been there since wk 4 ~ lately my HGB has been bouncing up and then down lower!

cajun,  that's so funny!  It was kinda like a slap in the face or a tease giving me the procrit but no way to take it!  Maybe they gave you my syringes! Lol
I finally got the syringes and meds all set to take the procrit tomorrow.  The funny thing is the pharmacy's automated system called me 3 times today to p/u my syringes ~ I already got them yesterday!

best wishes...Darla
