Mitral Prolapse Valve

Hi all.  New to this site.  I have a question regarding treatment. I am trying to get started in May, however, due to Prolapse Mitral Valve I have to undergo stress test and release from cardiologist.  Has anyone ever gone through treatment with a prolapse mitral heart valve?

I too have mitral valve regurgitiation. I assume this has nothing to do with Hep C. as it was found by a Cardiologist, doing all the necessary prep work before treatment began.

I am 62,1B,stage 3, grade 4 and I have tried Peg-intron, Infergen and Pegasys. I have done over 100 weeks and I am still carrying the little devils. I started out with 1M. copies and have gone as high as 36M. I am now at 186,000, without treatment. I finished in August of 2006 and have been left with multiple side effects. But, that doesn't mean that your body will react in the same way.

Good Luck and keep me posted!

I wish you the best. You have a low VL. Mine was 8.2 million at base. That's great that you are eating healthy too.

Not everyone has bad sx, so try not to worry too much. The first shot you feel the most, but I don't think it was bad at all. Felt like the flu with the shakes. I had some bone pain in the beginning. I took Tylenol PM twice and then I just put up with the pain and used a heating pad after that. The tylenol is fine to take according to most of our doctors but I am so anti drug that if its possible I won't even take tylenol, but of course if you need them and your doctor says its okay, they do help.

If someone posted a similiar post to yours recently I'm sure they will see your thread sometime soon and help in whatever way they can. Some people come daily to the forum and others not as often.

Wish you the best. Don't be shy about asking questions as you start treatment. There are many people here on forum and someone will always  help in whatever way they can.

Take care.

Thanks for responding.  I noticed someone posted a few days ago with similar topic.  I go to the cardiologist next week and then if okay, I will start 48 week treatment plan May 27th. I'm a 1b, Viral Load 135,000.  I have been reading everyone's posts here  and other posts which helped me make the decision to treat since I discovered this problem in December.  I had been feeling sick with joint pain all over and fatigue and when I quit all drinking, OTCs and started eating healthy, almost all problems resolved except for some fatigue. I'm 51 yr old with two dogs, a french bulldog, a rescue small terrier mix, two grown sons and a grandson.  I hope I can work through it all.

Hi Ana, welcome to the forum. I just wanted to let you know that if you don't receive a response from anyone, you're not being ignored. It would just mean no one has an answer for you.

Wish you the best!
