Monday Night TV Conundrum

Just what was ABC thinking but putting the premier of this season's "Dancing With The Stars" up against both "Prison Break" and "24"? I know they're terrified of the Tuesday/Wednesday "Americal Idol" juggernaut; but do they really think those that tune into "24" weekly to see Jack save the world aren't at all interested to see if Heather Mill's leg will come flying off during the Rhumba?  Thank goodness for TIVO or I'd have to try and figure out how to record one program while watching another on a VCR, and everyone knows that is next to impossible.

Congratulations for your clarity of thought and discerning the conflicts and alternatives. Nothin' wrong with your thinker.  Those of some of the 'mental gynastics'  with which people should be regularly challenged. I don't watch those shows myself, though there is vociferous debate in my family which I just shake my head about.  But a word of caution, if anyone considers the VCR as an option to record that which they cannot see they should make sure that their VCR is of recent vintage or make sure that recent Daylight Savings Time changes have been considered.  From what I hear, even if the Rhumba is most vigorous, and it stays attached, Heather does not have a leg to stand on in this competition.  I look forward to a Community update.

Thank you for recognizing the thought process that goes into this difficult decision making process. I have already had one TFUR (TIVO Failure for Unidentified Reasons) this month, so the anxiety level is high but containable. Still, I would not even attempt a VCR backup with Daylight Savings Time, the least of my concerns. Do not discount that the U.S. sympathy vote may actually give Heather a leg up, but in the word's of her ex, we'll just have to "Let It Be".

I just did shot# 11 . I think i will just wait around and see if my leg is going to fly off. The way i'm shaking I'm sure I look like I'm dancing.

I could not watch it because of her (I just cant stand her), so if she gets voted off I might tune in. Besides last night was Ladies night on deal or no deal and they had all those hot male models for a change, Heather could not compete, flying leg or not ;-)

Still to this day can't figure it out - hit record, options etc. watched it tell me ok then came home to watch the movie and nada.

In these days where us heppers can be as obsessed with our tv as with our treatment...don't they KNOW it has to be 100% free of any computer glitches?

I already tivo too many shows to add Dancin in or I won't be able to get to bed everynight until about 3am by the time I'm done watching.

I have a problem and need rapid detox now.

You mean you're NOT Tivoing "Dancing with the Stars (DWS)"? Could this be a post treatment side effect? Hope it isn't permanent!

Last night I watched "Dancing" live and recorded both PB and 24. By the time I finished with 24, it was well past midnight and I was wasted. (Just had to watch night 1 in case her leg flew off :) )

Anyway, next week I don't think I'll do a triple-watch, only problem being that AI follows on Tuesday and Wednesday. Maybe watch one of the shows on Friday when nothing else seems to be on. On top of that, I bought Season 1 of "Lost" so am really in Overload. (Watched one episode of Lost after the three shows last night :))

FYW DWS will be on tonight as well and it's going to be a really interesting season. Just have to figure out what to record and what to watch as Dancing is two hours and AI is on hour. Not sure I can do 3 hours on that and still squeeze in an episode of "Lost". Truth is I'm more into "Lost" now than anything current. They have such cliffhangers. LOL.

I couldn't even keep up with my channel switching so I decided - PB only has two weeks left and 24 not much more.

So I'll watch them for now (and Dancin in the commercials) so I sort of know what is going on.  

Then when the two shows are over I'll switch over to Dancin full time.

It's too much. WHAT were they thinking?  It's too much why not just push Dancin back a few little measly weeks for us!

Especially now when it's all wrapping up and is so GOOD!

ohhhhh jimbo...you got the "lost" videos... my hubby and i did that and watched 3 seasons in no time flat!!! i could'nt stand waiting to see the next one, so we marathoned it... it's very addictive watching them on the video's ya know... no commercials, several episodes, etc... we just flew through all the seasons in record time...

now we're waiting on this seasons show to go on video, then we will get caught up durring the summer and start watching next season on tv.

its good!!!!

Yeah, I can imagine the chicks swooning over bad-boy "Sawyer". LOL. At first I was smitten with just with Kate -- stil am to a degree -- but now think Maggie, Claire and Sun Kwon are pretty hot as well. Think I did five epsisodes in a row last night. Starting to cut into my sleep. LOL. Good to see you posting again. Hope you're doing well post treatment.

were doing good jm... thanks!  Bob's back to work now after the heart attack... what a relief... now we're just a bit nervous about repeat heart attacks in the future... it seems like everyone who has them has more than just one...i guess they're like potato chips...

so were just prayin and giving it to God... Bob's doing terrific at his heart healthy living/diet... so that's good... now for me to get on the veggie train... yuk!lol

hey, let me know how the viewing goes... were in limbo waiting for this season to come out on tape...
