SHOULD--hopefully WILL!:)
Bug
yeah, but now that you're off the meds THAT problem should disappear. :)
10 or 12 whining posts and I'm marked for life:) Should have never posted 'Is everyone ignoring me or am I paranoid' so many times!
Well it worked! Thanks for responding!
Ok, we leave the cats out of the steam room, probably birds are not a good idea either, but it will definitetly work on dog smell, I just know it!
Bug
hi bug,
i KNOW how very sensitive you are and I just wanna make sure you don't think I ever ignore you!
I have a very erratic posting style - i'll sit at the pc for 5 to 10 minutes 5 or 6 times a day and I'm very scattered and i don't always read through everything thoroughly or scroll thru all the responses coz i don't have an attention span anymore -
BUT - how are you feeling two weeks post riba?
ya sound great, as always.
bet that odor thing is gonna disappear now. i wouldn't suggest steam rooms for cats, though, unless you're thinking of making feline fricassee. *LOL*
You KNOW I'm kidding - I loooove cats - although the rest of the flock isn't partial to that particular species.
Oh yeah. I went out on the patio one day as it was raining and it smelled like it was raining sewer water. My cat, I swear some days smells like he's been romping through Love Canal. He has this wierd chemical smell. I figure he's been out on someones lawn who has put fertilizer or weed killer on it.
I've discovered another thing about food as well. I CANNOT cook meat of any kind. Just looking at raw meat or handling raw meat disgusts me to no end. The times I HAVE cooked something for myself, I find I cannot eat it. However, I can eat meat if I go out and someone ELSE cooks it. I've practically lived on Rudy's BBQ the last few months.
Well, nice to know I'm not imagining this! Some days are much worse in a sensory way than others; Sometimes I need to wear ear plugs at night (NY street sounds can be very loud!). Sometimes I need to leave the room when someone has on too much scent.

yep, super snooter, and i can hear through walls too. too bad the vision went south or i'd really think myselfl a superhero.
My senses have all gone wacky. I get hungry and nauseous at the same time. Food tastes odd, sometimes, even water. I haven't been able to get my haircut because the smell of all those hair products send me running out the door. The up side is chocolate. I can still always eat chocolate.
I bet your right about that! Ever been around someone who'd been drinking the night before and they smelled like beer still? I bet the steam room gets the pores open and the smell escapes. New invention possibilty. Steam rooms for the pets!
Bug
drives me nuts, especially my own (even though I bathe every day) - sometimes i can smell the meds.
that's why, when i get the chance, i like to go to the steam room. seems to get rid of some of the chemical odor. maybe it's just my imagination, though.

Yes odors is a definite side. I thought everything smelled like cat urine. My computer is on the other side of the utility room with the cat box. Even when I wasn't around the cat box I could still smell it. Really wanted to get rid of my cat and dogs! I went out and bought all these plug-ins then they started making me sick too!
That was/is one of my husband's worst side effects. We have a Bassett hound which has a strong odor anyway, and when he first started treating could hardly stand to be around our dog because of that.
Food had a chemical taste and he had difficulty eating, and the combination of smell and taste made him too nauseous to eat. This was the period of time he was the sickest.
It's better now, but still effects him.
Sorry you're dealing with this. Hope it passes soon.
yes, odors and tastes become magnified/ changed. sometimes sound seems louder too. all these changes are aversive. i think it's the interferon, i had this all the time till about week 29 (i just did shot 34 of 48). it's much better now, but i still get it to a lesser extent for 1 or 2 days following the shot. all the best.
