6 tabs @ 80mg/tab will be under your 500mg. I can remember being able to spell too prior to tx.
Glad to here you got the itchy eyes under control....I recently had an allergic reaction to ambien while on tx.....I almost went crazy with the itching and rash. I hope your tx go's well.

Best wishes,
Darla

Well, I just did shot #6 "woo, woo" :) I appreciate this forum so, so much. Regarding the medication for flu like symptoms? I chose to buy Childrens Tylonol (80mgs per tab) so I took 3 + 240 mg's )Grape flavor..not bad..lol  I'm nervious (use to be able to spell prior to starting tx.. lol ) about going over 500mg's so the most I will take is 6 tabs. DOES THIS SOUND OK WITH MOST OF YOU???

Thanks regarding the eye drop input (for the mad itchy eye lids, lost a few lashes, no biggy) I bought some and it's not an issue.....

Hey Bobby, depends on with pages you're reading I guess, what I'm reading talks a lot about several different types of pain related to cryoglobins. This is from a Hep C sit :
(but I've run into many others saying much the same thing.)

"There is an association between cryoglobulinemia and peripheral neuropathy, but the relationship is not completely understood. Research suggests that some of the proteins found in cryoglobins react against components found in the peripheral nerves, causing inflammation.
Nerve damage can eventually result in a loss of nerve control in the extremities, causing nerve pain, abnormal sensations and impaired muscle control.

Signs and Symptoms of Cryoglobulinemia

The primary sign of the disease is a raised, rash-like disorder of the skin caused by sub-dermal bleeding called palpable purpura, usually found first in the lower extremities.
Other signs of cryoglobulinemia can include:
Skin disorders: Hives, ulceration and tissue death due to impaired blood flow
Articular disorders: Joint pain, arthritis and progressive joint deformity
Kidney disorders: Inflammation / destruction of glomeruli (filtering membranes), protein in the urine, acute renal failure
Neurologic symptoms: Abnormal sensations or nerve pain, loss of muscle control
Abdominal pain
Bleeding disorders: Hemorrhage, thrombosis (abnormal clot formation)
Pulmonary disorders: Wheezing and pleural effusions (accumulation of fluid in the lung tissue)
Liver disorders: Hepatomegaly (enlarged liver) or signs of cirrhosis

The Cryoglobulins don't cause aches and pains as far as I know. They cause Neuropathy and Renal problems.

Quoting: lmr28  "It seems muscle pain, body aches, and headaches are more the norm than not."
I was reading about collected HCV cells forming cold patches in your blood. Cryoglobulins.
There's reference to it here:
http://www.hcvadvocate.org/hcsp/articles/Bonkovsky-2.html
I wondered if buying one of those magnetic, sheeps wool underlays for the bed, might not ease some of the ache on waking. Make it easier to get moving in the morning. The magnets keep your blood circulating.
Even before I read about Cryoglobulins I'd heard so many 'for reals' old people had benefited from having them, less ache/pain, less broken sleep. They're about $600 N.Z dollars, money back on a months trial...so I'll let you know.

I was also told no more than 4 tylenol in a 24 hour period!
Never heard of DHC, but plan to check it out.  On day #10, 2 shots down, (whoo-hoo!) and between the headaches and the extreme muscle fatigue, I need something!  I almost took a leftover oxycodone last night just to sleep.  (probably should not admit that on a medical forum, but no harm, no foul- I'm too chicken to ingest anything w/o direct instruction from my hep team!)
Severance- I totally agree w/ the old age statement! I like to pretend I'm 28, I'm actually 38, and now I'm feeling like 102!  A flight of stairs leaves me winded!!!  (and I used to run 3 miles!!!!)  I also know what you mean when you say that keeping your arms on the steering wheel takes more muscle power than I have left after work!  Sheesh!  I can hardly turn corners!!!
Good luck to all.  It seems muscle pain, body aches, and headaches are more the norm than not.
Take care,
~lmr28

My GI has told me no more than 4 extra strength tylenol a day.  I probably only take that much a week.  My first round of treatment my GI prescribed Darvocet for  control of body pain.  This time around I am on Tramadol as I also have rehumatoid arthritis.

I take 60mg DHC tablets (De Hydracodiene), it's slow release lasts 12 hours and it doesn't make me itch furiously like straight codiene. I'm not yet in treatment, but having them has made a world of difference to my quality of life. Just driving in the car for any distance was a muscle fatigue nightmare, to the point that the body would just shut down and sleep without warning. 35 and feeling 83.
The Ibuprofen brought me out in scales and paracetamol was too rough on the tummy.
I've been taking DHC's for years with no problems, although they do dehydrate you and if you suffer from dry mouth and scratchy eyes you need to keep an eye on your liquid intake. Once a month I have a B12 shot, which has nothing to do with pain relief but seems to help with general energy levels.
With hope you won't need them, Sev.

I have heard from a lot of people that a lot of Dr's reccomend Tylenol but you can only take about 1000 mg a day ...no more. Some Dr's don't like Ibuprofen because it can cause bleeding like aspirin does and mixed with low platelets caused by the Interferon you could possibly have a problem.
I took 2 Ibuprofens 3 times a day for the 6 months I was on treatment with no problems whatsoever. I needed it because I would wake up in the morning feeling like an old man with arthritis. I could hardly lift my left arm to put a cup of coffee in the microwave. No to mention all the other aches and pains.
It apparrently didn't do any harm because I just finished treatment and believe i am still undetected.

I was told to take Tylenol as needed.  I have never had to take it as I have never had a reason to.  You may not need to take anything as everyone has different sx's.
