Pegasys - 3 month viral load..UNDECTABLE!

Pegasys - 3 month viral load..UNDECTABLE!

Actually this is not a question but more a message to let you know of the success of my experience this far. I am Class 1a, stage 4, Grade 2 cirrhosis and started tx 29 weeks ago. I just got back my 3 month viral load results and I am undetectable!!  I am still in shock...I believe..it's like a wave of peace has come over me...and I feel like this is a dream!  WOW!!!

So please keep the faith...I know only yesterday I was sooo down, with depression and some severe side effects like brain fog...took my shot a day early..double booking doctor's apts...sleeping through others....yikes! But now that I have this news.....the rest of treatment will be soo much easier to do knowing it IS working!

You are all in my prayers, Anita

We like these posts as much as questions.  Great news!  After 29 wks. TX you are just getting your 12 wk. PCR results now?  I could not bear to wait so long!

Don't believe the information that says people who have cirrhosis fail treatment.  Truth is that some cirrhotics do not respond well to interferon but many have as much of a reponse as someone with less liver damage.  I wish people with cirrhosis would never read those things, it just makes TX so much more worrisome.  Undetectable by 12 weeks is a good sign for success.  I'm glad for you.

Thank you Rockerforlife, Marcia and NewLeaf. Great video btw! Got to love Freddie King!

You know you just made me realise something...NewLeaf09!  This is week 24 results, not 12.  I was slow responding as you can see  below but week 24 is undetectable.  They asked me at week 4 if I would consider doing an additional 24 weeks after I complete these 48.

VL = 6.84 E+5 to start
VL = 1.77 E+6 at Week 4, March 16/09

So I guess it is not as good as I thought...but I am going to be positive and keep any thoughts of failure out of my mind. I am going to beat this and it may take longer than the regular tx but I will do what I have to do...

Thanks soo much for your responses and wishing you all a great day!

Sincerely, Anita

Good news. Best of luck to you. Liver damage is slowed, halted or even reversed during TX. So, you are buying needed time in addition to having the chance for SVR.

Best wishes,
Brent
